​Nvidia GTX 950 Specs Price and Details India 2015

Nvidia GTX 950 Specs Price and Details India 2015 : Nvidia launched the new Nvidia GTX 950 mid range graphics card globally on 21-August 2015. The graphics card is suitable for gaming at 1080P as well as 720P and can run most games at high and ultra FPS on at least the 720P resolution. Nvidia launched the GTX 980 and 970 in the end of year 2014 in November and later launched the Nvidia GTX 960 in February 2015 catering to the mid and high end segments.

It is time that the lower mid range get an upgrade from the existing GTX 750 and GTX 750 ti. AMD has done the lower range refresh twice after the Nvidia GTX 750 and 750 TI were launched.  AMD launched the AMD R7 260x and AMD R7 270x and in June 2015 have rebranded and re-launched the AMD R7 370 and AMD R7 360 which currently compete with the Nvidia GTX 750 and GTX 750 Ti.

The new Nvidia card is expected to be priced at Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 15,000 depending on the manufacturer and brand. The Graphics card is priced at $160 in the global market. In India the graphics card are usually get mark up of 30% above the international price. For instance the GTX 960 was priced at $200 globally but sells at Rs. 18,000 ($300) in the Indian market. The likely price of GTX 950 will be above Rs. 13,000.

Candytech has contacted Nvidia India folks and they will confirm the base price for the Graphics card soon. It may get available as soon as September mid to end considering the mid range graphics card market is ripe in India/ Asian markets. 

Nvidia India Confirmed to Candytech today- (23- August-2015) that pricing will start at Rs. 14,450 for GTX 950 in India. (we estimated Rs. 14,500 before they confirmed, pretty close estimation.)

The new Nvidia GTX 950 is based on the GM 206 architecture and 28 nm manufacturing process. The Maxwell 2 based graphics card is as energy efficient as the GTX 960 or the GTX 970 GPU’s. As per Nvidia you just need a 350 Watts PSU to the run the GTX 950, but I would recommend to go for a 400 watts or more PSU in case you plan to Overclock and run multiple drives and SSD’s.

The Graphics card will be available from Various Manufacturers like Asus , Gigabyte , Zotac, MSI and pricing for the graphics card will depend on the brand.

The GTX 950 opens up a big gap in terms of performance Vs the Nvidia GTX 750 Ti, a performance increase of about 20%, depending on game titles. Considering the price difference is not too much the graphics card looks absolute value for money. The GTX 950 almost try to touch the GTX 960, as per the data by Nvidia.

The Nvidia GTX 950 easily beat the AMD mid range cards both the AMD R7 270X and AMD 370 easily. The GTX 950 offers the performance of GTX 760 which was priced around Rs. 17,000. Looking at the performance numbers the GTX 950 can be an ideal choice for mid range gaming pc rigs for a budget of Rs. 40K to 55K. Beyond that we can try to squeeze in the Nvidia GTX 960.

We have just got updates Nvidia is expected to launch the new GTX 950 on 21 August 2015 almost 20 days from today.

The rumors are pretty strong and details have emerged online, we earlier had the impression that the new graphics card will be called as the Nvidia GTX 950 Ti now the reports confirm that the graphics card will be known as Nvidia GTX 950 only and the Ti version may not get launched.

KEY Specifications Nvidia GTX 950

The Nvidia GTX 950 is going to be based on the GM206 Maxwell GPU architecture and will have 768 Cuda cores with 48 texture mapping units and 32 ROPs.

The GTX 960 on the other hand has 1024 Cuda cores with 128 Bit memory interface and memory clock of 7 GB/PS.

The Nvidia GTX 950 is expected to have 2 GB of GDDR 5 memory and 128 Bit bus width, the graphics card is going to be highly energy efficient like the other Maxwell graphics cards. The graphics card will allegedly have 90 Watts of power and will run on less than 400 Watts PSU with a single 8 pin connector.

The core clock is expected to be 1150 to 1250 MHz with boost upto 1400 Mhz this can give decent gaming performance for mid range range PC setups.

The memory clock is expected to be around 6.5 Ghz to 6.75 Ghz. We can expect a performance boost of approx. 10% vs the current generation Nvidia GTX 750 ti in various gaming titles.

The pricing in the international market will be close to $150 give and take few dollars and it will be priced close to Rs.12,000 in the Indian market.  The current Nvidia GTX 750 Ti is priced close to Rs. 11,000 in the Indian market.

The graphics card will be ideal to play the gaming titles like GTA 5, Assassin’s creed unity, Fifa 16, Battlefield and Witcher 3 on 720P display. For 1080P you will need some thing more exotic like the AMD R9 380 or the Nvidia GTX 960 or GTX 970 to enjoy the games at high/ultra details.
