8 GB RAM Smartphone With 4 Cameras : Asus AR – While we have been waiting for the 8 GB RAM smartphones in 2016, with several rumors, Asus has finally done it with the Asus AR smartphone.
Its the world’s First smartphone to be compatible with Google’s Daydream and Google’s Tango as well. Making it the only phone which would give the users an experience of Virtual Reality and Augmented reality in the same nutshell.
Although technically Asus is second in the race, first being Lenovo with Lenovo Phab 2 Pro to be powered by Tango but it is not day dream ready.
Surprisingly all the efforts are from the Chinese OEMs compared to the Giants like Samsung, LG, Sony etc. After all its Android world, one should Expect the Unexpected!
The Asus AR flaunts a 5.7 Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The side bezels are quite thin and the curvature at the back with the grippy texture.
The camera module at the back which is the main highlight of this story packs ASUS TriCam™ system with 3 cameras , having 23 MP main camera, another motion-tracking camera, and a depth-sensing camera.
Which in real life help the phone track its actual location to convert the reality to a more exciting augmented reality, hence the name Asus AR. There is also a 4th Camera at the front with 8.0 Mega pixel lens and f/2.0 aperture.
It is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset, another add on to the list of smartphones like their very own Asus Zenfone Deluxe, OnePlus 3T, Google Pixel and many more.
Paired with the processor is a whopping 8 GB of RAM which certainly makes it the world’s first smartphone with such insane ram capacity. Although the models placed on display during the CES event showed only 6 GB of ram in the phone settings. There is Hifi DTS HD sound Dac for superior music experience on the Zenfone AR.
Fortunately it’ll come with Android Nougat 7.0 with ZENUI skin on top. The UI looks familiar to that found on its siblings Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra.
The phone looks very classy and has slim bezels upfront. It has a typical candybar shape and sports the typical Asus off-screen navigation buttons. Overall the phone seems to be sturdy and well built.
Surprisingly this phone also sports a front facing fingerprint sensor. Its the second smartphone from Asus sporting a front facing fingerprint sensor after the upcoming Asus X00GD which recently passed the TENAA certification.
Along with Asus, Qualcomm have also shared some information in the event that all the smartphones based on Google’s Tango will exclusively run on Qualcomm’s own chipsets. That’s a real good opportunity for Qualcomm, Google, OEMs to work closely.
The Zenfone AR comes with 3300 mAH battery capacity along with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The pricing of the phone except Asus confirmed that the Asus Zenfone AR will ship sometime in Q2 of 2017.
Asus Zenfone Zoom
Along with Zenfone AR, they’ve released Zenfone 3 Zoom which features Qualcomm’s 625 chipset and a massive 5000mAh battery and sports a 12 Mega pixel dual camera setup. The rear camera comes with two 12 Mega Pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and Sony’s IMX362 sensor. The camera is capable of recording 4K videos and it comes with OIS and EIS.
The smartphone looks exactly like the iPhone 7 Plus. The Zenfone Zoom comes with 5.5 Inch display along with the cutting edge Gorilla Glass 5 on top.
The smartphone has 7.83 mm and weighs 170 grams.
