First Samsung 6 GB RAM Smartphone Launched in India – Samsung C9 Pro
First Samsung 6 GB RAM Smartphone Launched in India – Samsung C9 Pro – Samsung has finally brought the much awaited Samsung C9 Pro to India. The smartphone was released back in October 2016 in China with price tag of CNY 3199 (approx Rs. 32,000).
Samsung at an event in Orissa unveiled the device and shared that it will be available online as well as off line for Rs. 36,999 in India.
Design – It features a new design with “six string antenna lines”. The body is made of metal and has a 2.5 D curved glass covering the display. It also sports the traditional Samsung home button with fingerprint sensor integrated in it.
Despite of having a bigger screen (6.0 Inch) and a large battery, the phone still manages to have a low thickness of 6.9 mm, just like the iPhone 6s. The smartphone weighs 180 grams that is ideal for a large display mobile. Overall it’s quite thin and light weight with such a huge form factor.
Display – The Samsung C9 Pro comes with a huge 6.0 inch Full HD (1920*1080) Super AMOLED display. The huge 6 inch display and 1080p resolution reduces the number of pixels per inch to 367 PPi. It may not be as sharp as the Quad HD Display on the Samsung S7 edge, but it is a super AMOLED from Samsung, which means it is one of the best displays.
Performance – The Samsung C9 Pro runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 Chip-set along with Adreno 510 GPU. Its a successor to the powerful SD 652 Chipset. The GPU has seen a slight boost as well from Adreno 506 to 510. Additionally the Snapdragon 653 is manufactured using the more energy efficient process to pro-long the battery life.
This is the first smartphone from Samsung which comes with 6 GB of RAM. The flagship S7 and S7 edge has 4 GB of RAM. The smartphone competes with the OnePlus 3T which also come with 6 GB of RAM.

The C9 Pro sports 64 GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 256 GB using a memory card. Surprisingly, it has the dedicated SD card slot and can be used along with 2 sims at the same time.
Camera – Samsung has used a 16 Mega Pixel camera at the front and as well as at the rear with f/1.9 aperture. The rear camera comes with an f/1.9 aperture lens which is ideal for clicking low light images. It also has phase detection auto focus support and a Dual led flash. Samsung C9 is also the first smartphone from Samsung to have a front 16 MP camera, to click clear and detailed selfies.
Battery – The smartphone comes with a huge 4000 mAH battery, which is a significant bump to the 3300 mAh battery found in recently launched Samsung C7 Pro. It also supports Quick charging feature.
Other Features – The C9 Pro ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0 with TouchWiz skin on top. Soon it would be upgraded to Android N. The C9 PRO has USB Type C port along with the NFC support for Samsung Pay. There is Bluetooth v 4.2, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), GPS, Glonass, Beidou and the coveted 3.5 mm audio jack.
The C9 Pro would be up for grabs from the second half of Feb, although one can pre-order from Jan 27th. It’ll be available in Black and Gold colour options. The Rose gold color is yet not launched in India.
One who pre-orders it, will also get one-time screen replacement from Samsung which will be valid for a year from the date of purchase.
Overall its a great device and will compete with the OnePlus 3T. The Samsung C9 Pro looks impressive, with great specs and design, hopefully would make up for some damage done by the Samsung Note 7.
