5 megapixel cameras are not bad for taking selfies. In fact, I had a Samsung S7 with 5 Megapixel front camera, and it used to take good images.
More Megapixels don’t mean better photo quality. It’s a myth.
However, if you are looking for better selfie camera performance, look for an 8/12 or higher megapixel camera with a large aperture.
Megapixel count is not everything; the Pixel 2 has an 8 MP camera and still takes great images.
2. Secondly, try to use light effectively to take images. Selfies clicked outdoors in good lighting conditions can make a sea change in the image quality.
3. Try using interesting backgrounds for your images or download the background blur App from the play store if your phone camera doesn’t support the bokeh effect.
4. Another option is to use a selfie stick or a monopod, which can improve the framing to make your images way better.
5. Lastly, once you have taken a selfie trying to edit it in Snapseed App, available free on the Google play store. You can increase a bit of contrast and color saturation or add a color preset to make the image more lively.
Paris Hilton or Britney Spears have not invented selfies, as much as they may want to claim. But selfies have been there for almost 100 years. There are pictures from 1920 clicked using a large camera and a selfie stick.
Well, now we know that Miss Hilton is not the inventor of selfies or even the Selfie Stick.
