Asus is all set to launch the Zenfone AR in India today and the launch event is New Delhi on 13 July 2017. The smartphone will come with a special focus on Tango (Augmented Reality) and Daydream( Google VR).

It’s the world’s First smartphone to be compatible with Google’s Daydream and Google’s Tango as well. Making it the only phone which would give the users an experience of Virtual Reality and Augmented reality in the same nutshell.
8 GB RAM Mobile Phone – Asus AR
Although technically Asus is second in the race, first being Lenovo with Lenovo Phab 2 Pro to be powered by Tango but it is not day dream ready.
Surprisingly all the efforts are from the Chinese OEMs compared to the Giants like Samsung, LG, Sony etc. After all its Android world, one should Expect the Unexpected!
Asus Zenfone AR Specs and Details
The Asus AR flaunts a 5.7 Quad HD Super AMOLED display. The side bezels are quite thin and the curvature at the back with the grippy texture.
The camera module at the back which is the main highlight of this story packs ASUS TriCam™ system with 3 cameras, having 23 MP main camera, another motion-tracking camera, and a depth-sensing camera.
Which in real life help the phone track its actual location to convert the reality to a more exciting augmented reality, hence the name Asus AR. There is also a 4th Camera at the front with 8.0 Megapixel lens and f/2.0 aperture.
It is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset, another add on to the list of smartphones like their very own Asus Zenfone Deluxe, OnePlus 3T, Google Pixel and much more.
Paired with the processor is a whopping 8 GB of RAM which certainly makes it the world’s first smartphone with such insane ram capacity. Although the models placed on display during the CES event showed only 6 GB of ram in the phone settings. There is Hifi DTS HD sound Dac for superior music experience on the Zenfone AR.
Fortunately, it’ll come with Android Nougat 7.0 with ZEN-UI skin on top. The UI looks familiar to that found on its siblings Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Ultra.
Surprisingly this phone also sports a front facing fingerprint sensor.
Along with Asus, Qualcomm has also shared some information in the event that all the smartphones based on Google’s Tango will exclusively run on Qualcomm’s own chipsets. That’s a real good opportunity for Qualcomm, Google, OEMs to work closely.
The Zenfone AR comes with 3300 mAH battery capacity along with the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

While we have written about several smartphones which came with 6 GB RAM, the Asus AR is one of the first devices to boast of 8 GB RAM. OnePlus 5 is already available in India which also comes with 8 GB of Ram.
The other smartphones which are likely to come with 8 GB RAM are Vernee Apollo 3 powered by the Mediatek Helio X30 processor and 8 GB of Ram. There are also news that the Meizu Pro 7 can also have the coveted 8 GB RAM. Nubia Z17 is another smartphone which was launched in China couple of days back and offers 8 GB of Ram and is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdraogon 835 processor.
There are going to be several smartphones which will launch in 2017 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Helio X30 along with 8GB ram to ensure the smartphone performance scale a new height.
