Acer Liquid Zest Plus battery centric smartphone was launched recently and comes with a peculiar name and enormously large 5000 maH battery. There is news from the grapevine that Acer may launch the smartphone in May’16 in the Indian market.
Acer unveiled an upgraded version of the Liquid Zest smartphone, with curvier design and a plastic build.
The Liquid Zest plus have Mid-range specifications. However, the battery backup claimed by the company is three days, and trustingly we can expect it to run for two days with mixed usage. Some of the mobile marathoners here may finish it off in 1 day too.
The smartphone has a 5.5 inch HD screen; the screen resolution is kept low keeping in mind that this is a battery centric device.
Powering the smartphone is a MediaTek MT6735 processor, and 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16 GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable using a micro SD slot.
The phone also has been equipped with the most crucial feature – fast charging.
Acer, however, has not revealed the charging time for the smartphone.
Admirably, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box, and the UI offers close to the stock Android experience.
For photography, Acer Liquid Zest Plus includes a 13 MP rear camera; the front camera is 5 megapixels.
The rear camera has enhanced focus named tri-focus, which works by combining three different modes of Laser, contrast, and phase detection focus.
Apart from the myriad of battery saving options the smartphone also supports lossless surround sound.
Remarkably, Acer Liquid Zest Plus is certified to carry DTS-HD logo on the back. The DTS-HD audio is available for blue ray players and supports up to 7 channels, we are not going to experience that with a headphone, but the sound will be quite crisp.
Most of the smartphone manufacturers are alluring buyers by using all types of materials (sandstone to Flintstone). Acer liquid Zest Plus comes with a pure plastic build. Acer has been little thoughtful to offer two color options at least, metallic blue and white.
The phone is available for Rs 16500 ($250) which looks high compared to the competitors, the Gionee Marathon M4 or the Asus Zenfone Max with similar battery backup is cheaper.
In India, the smartphone will find competition with some low priced local battery centric phones from Intex Aqua Power series, and Lava’s fuel series along with China made tyrants.
