Karbonn has recently launched a new smartphone for their lineup named as Quattro L55 HD. Karbonn has been in the Indian market with strong retail presence for years and has always known to deliver decent specs smartphone for the lower-end segment.

A couple of months back they launched affordable VR smartphones Titanium Mach 6 and Quattro L52.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 9,999 and also comes with VR support. It also shared by Karbonn that the smartphone will come with a bundled VR Headset.

The new Quattro L55 sports a large 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution IPS display but lacks premium looking 2.5D glass on top. The camera module shape at the back reminds us of the Samsung’s S line up in early years; the Samsung Galaxy S2.  Also, there is leather finish plastic back cover to add a premium feel to the device.

The all new Quattro L55 features a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (unspecified Processor) paired with just 2 GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16 GB of internal storage with expandability option up to 32 GB using a micro-sd card.

The optics department features 13 MP auto-focus rear camera along with the LED flash a there is also a 5 Mp fixed focus front shooter for taking selfies worth sharing on various digital platforms.

Powering this phone is a decent 2700 mAh battery pack which provides up to 130 hours of standby time, 9 hours of talk time, and surprisingly the company has marketed that the phone will take up to 4hrs to fully charge, which seems to be very long considering most smartphones are coming with fast charging support.

The phone supports all the connectivity options and the highlight being the VolTE and 4G data connectivity option. The company had already declared that they see a huge growth and scope in 4G connection and hence from now will release smartphones with 4G connectivity options no matter what price range does it belong to. On the software side, the phone runs on a rather old Android Lollipop 5.1 version.

It’s going to be a tough sell for Karbonn as they’ve released the phone at a very competitive price range of Rs. 10,000. The smartphone is priced at ₹ 9,990 when compared to its competitors. The smartphone will face competition from Redmi Note 3, Lava X46, Honor 5C, a new release from Reliance – LYF Water 6 (with unlimited data + Voice bundle).

As a matter of fact, it lacks various features which are available for smartphones in this range such as “All metal body”, “Fingerprint sensor”, “Fast charging”.
