AMD RX 500X Series Launched, Specs, Price Availability India

AMD has today announced and listed new graphics cards based on the RX 500X series on its official website. However, these don’t come with any significant upgrade in comparison to the current RX 500 series.

The new graphics cards launched by AMD are RX 580X, RX 570X, RX560X, RX 550X, RX 540X.

All the new GPUs support the Radeon Adrenaline Software, Radeon FreeSync technology (for smoother graphics) and the Radeon Chill technology (that makes these run cooler during gaming).

Also, these cards support the DX12, Vulkan API and the AMD Relive (helps you capture stream and share your gameplay). Additionally, the AMD RX 580X comes with support for VR gaming and is compatible with the HTC Vive and the Oculus VR headsets.

The graphics cards are made using the GCN 4th Gen architecture and are based on the 14 Nm manufacturing process.

Notably, the RX Vega 56 and the RX Vega 64 comes with HBM2 memory while the RX 500X series comes with the GDDR5.

Also, another key difference is the memory Bus width which is 2048 bit in case of Vega and 256 Bits in case of RX 580X or 570X. Also, the number of stream processors on both the RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 is much higher.

Let’s have a Quick Look at the Specs for each new Graphics card launched by AMD.

We are expecting the prices to be in line with the AMD RX 500 series in India. Moreover, the prices mentioned by me are also in the similar range as current market prices.

There is yet no official email from AMD India to Candytech about the price and availability of these cards, we may have to wait a couple of weeks for these to get available in the country.

Also, I have reached out to AMD for any more details that they can share with us regarding the new graphics cards or any potential changes they have done in comparison to the RX 500 series.

For almost last 2 years the Graphics card prices are high, considering insane demand from cryptocurrency miners. But we hope, in later part of 2018 if the prices of cryptocurrency decline, it can lead to a price correction of GPU’s.

Till then hold tight and look for Good Deals, especially in one of the most expensive markets (India).
