You have got a sweet tooth for the new Google Candy the Marshmallow. Yes, it is confirmed by Google that the New OS which was unveiled at the Google Annual Developer Conference – Google I/O will be known as the Android Marshmallow.
The Google OS Android 6.0 is the successor to the Android Lollipop 5.0 – 5.1.* and will start rolling out on various mobiles, stating with the Google Nexus devices. Tentatively we may get the update in 2-3 months in mid-October 2015.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is going to bring more features and enhancement to the Android Lollipop, and Google aims to bridge the Gap with iOS.
Moreover, the Android Marshmallow’s most significant offering is support for fingerprint sensor and Android Pay.
Further, the Marshmallow will support the fingerprint scanner in the smartphones which are manufactured with a fingerprint sensor. Android Lollipop or Kitkat lacks the support for a fingerprint scanner.
How Samsung and HTC have Fingerprint Scanner Working without Android Marshmallow?
Now you may be wondering how does a Samsung Galaxy S6 or HTC One M9 offers support for the Fingerprint scanner, as they run on the Android Lollipop. Samsung or HTC has built in Support for the Fingerprint scanner in their touch wiz and HTC Sense custom software.
The Android marshmallow also brings support for the Android Pay using the NFC (near field communication) technology, similar to the apple pay.
USB Type C Support
The other big addition with Android marshmallow is support for the USB Type C port, which was first unveiled with the Apple Macbook. The new USB Type C standard will replace the micro USB port and make it more easy for the smartphone to connect to storage devices and other display panels like TV etc.
Enhanced Battery Life
The Next significant feature that you would love in the Android Marshmallow is the enhanced battery life compared to the Android Lollipop, with deep sleep mode the smartphone and tablets will have an increased Battery life which has been a pain point in both the Android and iOS smartphones.
App Permissions – More Control
The App permissions are going to be under your control and you will have more say in what apps have access or not when giving permissions.
The Android Marshmallow has a deeper integration of links with Apps – means the links you click on the web in case belong to any App, you have on your smartphone, it will open using App, rather than the native browser.
User Experience – A New High
Android marshmallow will make the user experience better, and uniform, more of omnichannel when you are viewing content in an App or browser the experience and UI will be similar.
