iPhone 7 Sales and forecast

Also as reported by T-Mobile and Sprint in the US there is a very strong demand for the iPhone 7 especially the jet black variant. Stores have stopped taking pre-orders for black variant.

Apple has announced this year that they will not disclose the actual sales number of iPhone after the first week, which is a custom that Apple has followed for many years. Though Apple stocks have risen almost 20% since July 2016 and rose by 5% in the last couple of days after the positive news of massive pre-orders.

Apple iPhone 7 & 7 Plus launch and Top Features

Apple has launched the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, California. Tim Cook addressed the very large group of media stalwarts,  developers, and tech enthusiasts and millions of people watching the event live on their Apple devices.  The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will go on sale 16th September and pre-orders will start on 9th September 2016.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus gets some of the most awaited features and live up to all the hype as per my opinion.

iPhone 7 Pre-orders Start 9 and Sale Starts 16 September

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus comes in a new design which is not a far cry from the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus but Apple has used a new material and a new manufacturing process to make the smartphones feel even more premium. The iPhone 7 will be available in 4 Colors – Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black, Jet Black.

Camera – The major upgrade comes in the form of camera, the iPhone 7 has Optical image stabilization which was missing on the iPhone 6s and the lens comes with f/1.8 aperture and 6P lens.  The iPhone 7 camera has 12 MP single lens while the iPhone 7 Plus comes with Dual Rear camera lenses. The Dual rear Camera lenses on the iPhone 7 plus come with f/1.8 wide-angle and f/2.2 telephoto cameras lenses.

The Dual rear camera can create a stunning Bokeh effect and add depth of field to the photographs like a DSLR camera. The camera also gets a faster image signal processor to improve the performance and final result of camera clicked images. Other key features include 4K video recording, 2X Optical Zoom, and Quad-LED True Tone flash.

Front Camera is also improved from the current 5 MP facetime camera to a 7 Megapixel front-facing camera with a f/2.2 aperture to click incredibly good selfies.

Storage – The new iPhone 7 now comes with 32 GB of base storage and the higher variants get a 128 GB and 256 GB storage space, but there is no support for a memory card like some of Android smartphones ( Samsung S7).

Processor – Apple has introduced the first Quad Core processor for an iPhone with new Apple A10 Fusion Chipset.  The Processor is significantly faster compared to the iPhone 6s A9 chipset and comes with M10 motion co-processor. Apple has not specified how much Ram is there on the new smartphones but the devices will run on the Apple iOS 10.

WaterProof and DustProof – Apple has finally adopted the strategy to make the iPhone Dust and Waterproof with IP 67 certification.

iPhone 7 Gets Waterproof 32 GB Storage and Airpods (16 September)

Sound – The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus gets the new stereo speaker and Apple claims they can have 100% improvement to the sound levels compared to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with the new stereo speakers.

The biggest addition is the Apple Airpods which look stunning and futuristic with all new W1 processor and infra-red to detect when they are plugged into your ears. They come with a case which doubles up as a charging dock.

Apple has Ditched the 3.5 MM Jack – As feared by many Apple iPhone 7 comes with a lightning connector instead of a 3.5 mm jack and there will be a pair of new earpods using the new connector to use with your iPhone.

Display – Apple iPhone 7 comes with a brighter display with up to 25% more brightness compared to the 6s. The display type stays as IPS LCD, no shift to the OLED. Egregiously Apple has decided to stick to the poor display resolution compared to all flagship counterparts from the competition. The iPhone 7 comes with retina HD display (1334-by-750) with 326 PPI while the iPhone 7 Plus has 401 PPI Full HD resolution similar to older devices.

Battery Life – Apple claims that the battery life on the devices is expected to be 1-2 hours more compared to the previous generation of iPhones (6s and 6s Plus).

Touch ID – Apple has incorporated the Force touch in the Home Button along with the Fingerprint sensor.  The Home Button is now pressure sensitive similar to the display on the new iPhone 7.

Pricing – The Apple iPhone 7 is priced at $649 for the base variant 32 GB while the iPhone 7 Plus will be priced at $769 for the base variant in the US.
