Asus unveiled the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom at the CES 2017 along with the Asus Zenfone AR. Zenfone AR took the limelight being first 8 GB ram. Asus shared some of the information about Zenfone 3 at the CES 2017.
Though they did not share the price. Asus recently launched a new smartphone named as Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3S at an event in Taiwan and shared more details about the Zenfone 3 Zoom.
Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will cost CNY 3699, or Rs 38000 ($530), for the 128 GB variant. The smaller variants 64 GB and 32 GB will cost less, yet to be shared by Asus.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom comes with 5.5-inch display and with full HD resolution. The display is brilliant, made up of Super AMOLED panel and also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating. The design looks very similar to the iPhone 7 plus. Some iPhone fans may call it a rip-off of the iPhone 7 Plus with half the price, but on the contrary, it is the thinnest (7.99 mm) smartphone with 4850 mAH battery capacity.
That’s a +1 Asus.
Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom Camera – Whats So Special !!!
The smartphone comes with a similar Dual rear camera setup which is also very similar to the Apple iPhone 7 plus. Imitating is not bad if you do it right. Dual cameras were popularized by Huawei with the Huawei P9 and the Honor 8.
Zenfone 3 Zoom Camera is the highlight of the smartphone apart from the long battery life. There is Zoom lens which is capable of zooming up to 2.3X without degrading the image quality.
The other 12 MP lens is a wide angle 26 mm, f/1.7 aperture Sony IMX 362 sensor. The older Asus Zenfone Zoom came with a physical zoom lens capable of 3X optical zoom. Notably, there is no camera bulge on the Zenfone 3 Zoom.
Both the lens have 1.4-micron pixel size and the camera has features like OIS, EIS. The camera can also record 4K Videos.
There is a fingerprint scanner located below the rear camera setup.
Incredible battery Life and More Specs…
Apart from Good camera setup the other notable feature is battery capacity, it comes with enormous 4850 mAH Li-polymer battery.
The smartphone comes with 4 GB of Ram and runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, Octa-Core processor. The processor has a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz and is highly energy efficient. The Snapdragon 625 is made from 14 Nm manufacturing process.
The processor is a miser when it comes to consuming battery, we saw that on our detailed review of Asus Zenfone 3, with 4850 mAH it can offer 1-1.5 days battery life with plenty of usage on the 4G network.
The lower storage variants will come with 2 and 3 GB Ram. The smartphone runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the heavily moded Zen UI 2.0.
The Zenfone 3 Zoom comes with Dual sim support and has a memory card slot for expanding the storage.
Asus has not launched any dual camera smartphone before this and this is there first attempt to catch up on voguish trend. Thin and long battery and a great camera what else do we want in future smartphones.
We want Tobii eye-tracking technology … we will get back to Tobii later, in future of smartphones.
