Originally, Asus Zenfone GO 4.5 was launched back on 28 December 2015, with the Mediatek MT6580M processor. Today Asus has refreshed the new Zenfone GO 4.5 (ZenFone Go (ZB452KG)) with refreshed hardware specs. Asus has launched 2 new versions.
The new Asus Zenfone GO 4.5 will come in two variants the lower variant is priced at Rs. 5299 and comes with a 5 Megapixel rear camera and there is a 0.3 Megapixel front camera.
While the higher variant is priced at Rs. 5699 and comes with a superior 8 Megapixel rear camera and a 2 Megapixel front camera. The price difference is not too much and most smart buyers will opt for the later variant.
The camera features night mode and low light mode for taking pictures in lower light. There is also a selfies mode and a real-time beautification feature on the smartphone. The rear camera comes with Led Flash. f/2.0 aperture lens as well as auto-focus.
The New Asus Zenfone GO 4.5 (2016) will be powered by the Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Not a major upgrade if we compare both the processors.
Asus has been quiet for the last 2-3 months and some major launches like the Asus Zenfone 3 is expected to happen in either May or June. In the last couple of months, Asus has launched Asus Zenfone Zoom (with a noticeably large camera) and Asus Zenfone Max (with noticeably large battery capacity). Asus Zenfone Max is one of the best battery smartphones with massive 4900 mAH battery capacity and priced abysmally low at Rs. 9999.
The display on the Asus Zenfone GO 4.5 is same was on the older version with 4.5 inches screen with a basic (854*480) pixels resolution.
The Zenfone Go 4.5 runs on the Android Lollipop along with the Zen UI. There is 1 GB of RAM available on the device and the internal storage is 8 GB with option to expand it to 64 GB using a micro-sd card.
The smartphone offers Dual Sim 3G/2G and WIFI supports but lacks the 4G LTE connectivity.
The battery capacity on the Asus Zenfone GO 4.5 is 2070 mAH , which is decent considering the low powered processor and display. The smartphone has a thickness of 11mm at the thickest spot and weighs 125 grams.
The smartphone will be available in many colors – White , Black , Red, Gold, Yellow and Silver. Who wants the yellow?
Peter Chang Country head Asus India and CEO Jerry Shen has said some days back that they are going to expand the R&D in India and want to have 5% share of the Indian market. All upcoming smartphones like the Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 deluxe will also feature advanced features like fast fingerprint readers.
There is lot of competition in the 5K to 6k price range and there are many good devices available at dirt cheap price like the Xolo One HD, Coolpad Dazen 1, Infocus Bingo 10 or Micromax Canvas Spark 3 (Best 5K Mobiles) . Asus Zenfone Go 4.5 too offers good value for money and a reputed brand name.
