Asus is on a smartphone launching spree, and is going to launch 2 more smartphone at the upcoming event IFA – Berlin (Consumer Electronics Fair).
Asus CEO Jerry Shen revealed that Asus is going to launch the massive battery smartphone Asus Zenphone Max along with the digital zoom camera mobile the Zenphone Zoom at the event on 2nd September 2015.
Asus in last couple of months have become very aggressive with the mobile devices launch and company want to be a larger player in the mobile domain.
The recent launch was of Zenphone Go, Zenphone Selfie , Zenphone Laser and Zenphone deluxe. Prior to that Asus has launched 4 variants of the Zenphone 2 in the market.
Jerry Shen also shared that Asus plan to launch more models of Zenphone in the next year and want to increase the expected sale to 40 million smartphones next year. This year Asus is likely to sell around 21 million smartphones.
The Zenfone Max other than having a crazy 5000 mAH battery capacity also have some good hardware and software specs which may get users excited.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64 Bit Quad Core processor clocked at 1.2 Ghz. The smartphone has 2 GB of RAM and runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.
The device support 4G LTE network for high speed data, and also has support for native 3G/2G network.
The smartphone has 5.5 inch IPC LCD HD screen with 1280*720 resolution. The internal storage is 8 GB /16 GB and it can be expanded to 64 GB using a micro-sd card.
The smartphone has 13 MP rear camera with autofocus and flash , front camera is 5 MP for clicking selfies.
Asus has not revealed the price for the Asus Zenfone Max but we can expect it to be close to $ 240 or Rs. 17,000 in the Indian market.
Asus Also plans to launch the Zenfone Zoom at the event which was earlier unveiled at the CES 2015. The smartphone will have a 13 Mega pixel camera with optical zoom and a 5 MP front camera. The camera has features like optical image stabilization and fast laser focus.
It is more like the Samsung Galaxy Zoom which got launched last year as a pro-photography smartphone but found very few takers due to the form factor and size. Consumers want the best of everything in slim, sleek device like the iPhone or the Samsung S6.
The smartphone has a 5.5 inch display and comes with the Full HD resolution. The smartphone will run on Android Lollipop out of the box.
Other than these 2 smartphones Asus is supposed to launch the new Zenphone 2 watch and a UHD monitor at the event.
