7 Best Bezel less Display Smartphones With Great Design

Updated 20-Sep-2017 – Future is Bezel-less for smartphones, and it is difficult to debate it. Moreover, the future was imagined many years back with concept phones showing a true bezel-less display, and now the reality is catching fast.

Smartphones have evolved, are more functional. Also, we are more dependent on these now then we have ever been on any gadget.

It is essential for phones to have a design that looks not only great but also works flawlessly.

The iPhone 7 Plus design is one of the most copied designs, and Samsung S7 edge and S8  have set the standard for the future bezel-less mobiles. Honorable mention, the Xiaomi Mi Mix that is the first genuinely bezel-less smartphone with 91.3% screen to body ratio is a legend in the Bezel-less phones legacy.

7 Best Bezel less Display Smartphones With Great Design

In 2017, many OEMs have come up with phones with a bezel-free design. The bezel-free displays help to keep the overall size of the phone smaller, as the unused space at the top and bottom of the screen is minimal. As a result, larger displays can be fitted easily in smaller frame sizes.

There are brands like LG, Samsung, Xiaomi and newcomer Essential who have launched some Bezel-less phones with stunning design.

On the other hand, some major companies such as Sony are yet to catch up on the new trend.

The Bezel-less displays and Dual cameras are top 2 crucial features for next-gen phones.

Let’s Check out the 7 Best Bezel-less Display Smartphones With Great Design.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the latest Bezel-less display phone from the Korean Giant, and it looks fantastic. The smartphone comes with metal and glass design with the full front side as a display.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Amazon India Launch

The Samsung Note 8 comes with an exquisite design and looks premium, and has eye-watering price $900 or Rs. 70,000.  Further, the smartphone has a large 6.3 Inch Quad HD+ Display with 2960*1440 pixels resolution and comes with the unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Contrastingly, the aspect ratio on the LG V30 is 18:9 that makes the Samsung Note 8 display taller and less wide compared to the LG V30. Also, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection making it more durable.

The design is water and dust proof and even comes with the IP 68 rating. However, the fingerprint placement, adjacent to the rear camera is not ideal; I prefer the LG V30 placement below the camera module.

Overall it is a great looking premium smartphone with top of the line processor and a gorgeous display to ogle on.

7 Best Bezel less Display Smartphones With Great Design

7 Best Bezel-less Display Smartphones With Great Design – LG G6 was the first phone with 18:9 ratio, launched ahead of the Samsung S8. The G6 is a significant upgrade compared to the LG G5.

Apart from the bezel-less 5.7-inch QHD  “FullVision” IPS LCD display. LG nailed the overall build quality.

Contrastingly, people hated LG G5 for mediocre build quality and design. The LG G6 is incredible, offers top-notch build quality, unique display and excellent cameras. It’s the first LG phone to sport IP68 rating.

Even though LG’s competitors are using OLED displays, LG is still sticking to its guns and using the best LCD panels for its smartphone.

Sadly, the G6 couldn’t get a Snapdragon 835 SOC, since it is co-manufactured by Samsung. And Samsung will use it initially in S8 and S8 plus, leaving no scope for other manufacturers to have early access.

Although, LG took this to its advantage and optimised the Snapdragon 821 processor even more and used it for the G6.

Apart from the hardware; LG also took care of the software and tweaked it to take the advantage of their new display ratio.

Interestingly, the dual 13 MP rear camera features 70° and 125° respectively. This provides the users to click wide shots and capture as much as they want. It works even better compared to the V20 since both the cameras now share similar megapixel count.

Overall the phone is worth the price since it’s available at a price of Rs 40,000. This is almost Rs 17,000 less than Samsung S8 that also provides a similar experience and even don’t have a dual camera.

Samsung S8 And S8 Plus

Samsung has vastly improved the glass back design they introduced in the S6. The all-new Galaxy S8 series is an evolution and a far cry from previous gen phones.

7 Best Bezel less Smartphones With Great Design, Display

The phone has a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED, 18.5:9 display ratio. Further, the display is slightly taller than the G6.

However, S8 design and looks are way more refined compared to the LG G6.

The phone still retains the curved edges but now are less obtrusive. It seamlessly blends with the metal rims; that has a smooth mirror finish.

Moreover, the S8 looks like a whole slab of glass without any intrusions.

Since the Snapdragon 835 was co-created by Samsung; it was pretty much obvious that they would use it in their flagship phone.

Additionally, S8 comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.

Also, it still retains the wireless charging and IP 68 feature.

Furthermore comes with a dedicated hardware button for the digital assistant – Bixby.

Notably, the camera on the S8 is a same as S7, and it is terrific.

To sum up, it is a great phone, with an eye candy design and equally stunning display. Although, it’s a pretty expensive and costs Rs 57,000 for the base S8 variant, and even higher, Rs 65,000 for the S8 Plus variant.

Essential phone

The essential phone is the first phone from Andy Rubin or as everybody calls him the “Father Of Android.”

For starters, it features a 5.7-inch QHD IPS LCD with 19:9 aspect ratio. The display occupies the full front to such an extent that it has an odd cut out for the front camera.

It’s placed at the dead center and looks odd and a break in the otherwise symmetrical front side.

The PH-1 (Essential phone) flaunts a ceramic back and has titanium sides, making it more durable compared to a glass and metal design.

The back sports the Dual Camera (RGB + Monochrome sensors), similar to Huawei phones. At the back, it has magnetic connectors to use with modular accessories. They already have created the world’s smallest 360° camera module.

Furthermore, it has Snapdragon 835 SOC with 4 GB of RAM and a whopping 128 GB of internal storage. The storage is unexpandable.

However, it lacks essential features such as IP rating, Dual SIM, 3.5mm audio jack, wireless charging, commonly expected from flagship phones.

LG V30 Unveiled With 6 Inch OLED Display, Dual 1.6 Apertrue Camera

The LG V30 flaunts a 6-inch QHD P-OLED display with 18:9 ratio. Further, It sports a curved glass and offers the A-O-D (always on display) feature.

Notably, it has a floating bar for a quick search on Google.

Moreover, the V30 has an excellent Dual 16 MP rear camera with f/1.6 and f/1.9 aperture. It’s probably the first phone to have such a large aperture even better than f/1.7 aperture on S8.

The V30 is driven by Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. And it even comes with 64 GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 256 GB. Also, it retains the wireless charging, IP68 rating, 32-bit Quad DAC feature.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix sports a 6.4-inch QHD FHD IPS LCD display. Powering the smartphone is the Snapdragon 821 SOC with 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Further, the phone sports a 16MP rear sensor with a 5MP front sensor.

Notably, Xiaomi has shifted the selfie shooter at the bottom to create a full vision top part of the display. Interestingly, the user has to rotate the phone upside down to take a selfie.

Mi Mix was available only in China; thus, a lot of fans were not able to experience the device.
