Yu Yureka Black is launched today in India by Yu Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax. The new smartphone comes with promising specs and a high gloss chrome finish black color which looks stunning.

It’s a Flipkart exclusive, priced at Rs 8,999. The Yu Black will go on sale, starting midnight of June 6, and is available in 2 color options; Chrome Black and Matte Black. The aggressive price tag makes it compete with Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4, Lenovo K6 Power.

Best Looking Budget Smartphone 2017 - Yu Yureka Black

The original Yureka was launched by YU way back in 2015, and this is a new incarnation of the Yureka. Also, the original Yureka was a top-selling smartphone from the brand. However, the quality control was poor on that device, and we hope that is not the case with this one.

Design wise the phone looks better than every other smartphone out there in this price range, including the Redmi 4 and Lenovo K6 Power. The high gloss back looks more like a design inspiration from the HTC U 11 while the front looks simple with a standard earpiece, selfie shooter up top.

Though, we will have to see how much scratch resistant is that shiny metal back.

There’s also a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button located at the front.

The phone looks spectacular for the price range and will surely give a tough competition is sub 9K price range.

It sports a 5 inch Full HD IPS LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Yu have gone with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protecting the screen. Most brands don’t tell about the protective glass used, but Yu has been upfront.

The handset runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SOC coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The 4 GB RAM on a sub 10K phone is also very rare, and it is one of the cheapest 4 GB ram mobiles launched in India.

Yu Black comes with 32 GB of internal storage and also supports micro-sd card upto 64 GB.

Yureka Black flaunts a 13 MP rear camera along with dual LED flash, below the sensor. Upfront, it packs in 8MP selfie shooter along with flash beside it.

The phone is driven by a sizeable 3000mAh battery; sadly there’s no mention of any quick charging support.

Unfortunately, Yu has settled to ship the Yureka Black with Android M out of the box. Although, almost every contender in this price range runs Android M out of the box. At the same time, this could’ve been the golden chance for Yu to capture the market by offering the latest Android Nougat with the Yu Black.

Yureka Black is a rebranding of the Chinese smartphone Wiko U Feel Prime with same specs and design. Recently, Micromax also launched the Micromax Dual 5 which was also a rebranded phone.

Everyone Copies designs, Oppo and Vivo copy iPhone and lot of brands copy Samsung and Apple designs.

Despite it is a rebranded smartphone from a Chinese brand, the smartphone looks very good and may also perform well. It is one of the cool looking smartphones with a very affordable price tag.

More on the Yu Black once actual customer reviews come out after 6 June 2017.
