Dual Sim Blackberry Phone Launches for $260

Blackberry has come up with its first ever Blackberry smartphone with a Dual Sim support. The new mid range smartphone is called as Blackberry Aurora.

While most of Android manufacturers have embraced the Dual Sim support long back, Blackberry has done it now. Apple are you listening people want Dual Sim, especially for better data offers. Dual sims are much common in Asia compared to the US. Probably one of the reasons Apple doesn’t feel it is useful for its buyers.

The new Blackberry Aurora is launched in Indonesia priced at $260 or Rs 17,400 and is available to purchase from Lazada. It is yet not known when it will be launched in other countries.

The smartphone may get launched in the other markets but there is no confirmation that it will happen any sooner.

The Blackberry Aurora BB Merah Putih an Indonesian manufacturing company. Though TCL holds the rights to manufacture Blackberry phones there are some regions where other manufacturers will make the device. In India, the BB phones will be made by Opteimus Infracom.

Blackberry Aurora Details and Specs

The new smartphone comes with a design which resembles the Moto G4 Plus from the back side. It has a similar textured back cover, a microphone, and a vertical camera assembly.

The front side looks broader and there is blackberry branding below the display where they should have placed a fingerprint scanner.

Ohh they don’t even have it at the back or anywhere else. Blackberry – Consumer research is a good area to work on before a smartphone launch.

The smartphone comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and also has the Adreno 308 GPU. It is not the latest SOC but is not too old either.

The Blackberry Aurora comes with 4 GB RAM, a bit of a surprise, and there is 32 GB of storage which can be expanded using the micro-sd card.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5 Inch HD Display with 267 PPI. There is 13 Megapixel rear camera with auto-focus support and there is also an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

On the positive Note, the Blackberry Aurora runs on the latest Android Nougat 7.0 (which is present on just 2.8 % of Android phones). It also has a decent 3000 mAH capacity battery.

The device has 8.5 mm thickness and weighs 178 grams.  The Blackberry Aurora will be available in Black, Gold, and Silver color options and will go on sale after the 12th march.

Blackberry has also launched new Blackberry Motion which is made by TCL and it is the first Android Phone which comes without the signature blackberry keyboard.
