The Oneplus 5 has more curved body compared to the Huawei Honor 8 Pro and the fingerprint scanner is also at the front side. While the Honor 8 Pro is slightly bigger and has the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device. I prefer light weight phones so my pick will be the Oneplus 5 as far as the weight and ease of usage goes.

The Dual camera placement is similar in both the mobiles and is vertically aligned like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

Both the devices come with exquisite design and feel fantastic in Hand.

OnePlus 5 is equipped with 5.inches  FULL HD AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p resolution and 401 PPI. On the side, Honor 8 Pro has 5.7-inch display with 2560 x 1440p resolution and 515 PPI. OnePlus 5 comes with Gorilla 5 and Honor 8 Pro has Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. The display on the Honor 8 PRO is superior to the One Plus 5 and gives it an edge in this round.

The Honor 8 pro has a slightly larger screen when compared to the Oneplus 5 and also feels a little bigger and slightly bulkier while working with a single hand.

OnePlus 5 weighs 153 grams and it has 7.25 mm thickness. On the other hand, Honor 8 Pro has 184 grams of weight and is 6.97 mm thick. But blame the large battery on the Honor 8 Pro for the extra weight.

OnePlus 5 is armed with 64 bit 2.45 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor with Adreno 540 GPU. And Honor 8 Pro is powered by 2.4 GHz Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 960 Processor with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. Both the smartphones have 6 GB of RAM.

But in real life and gaming performance both the mobiles offer buttery smooth performance and it is difficult to pick one over the other based on real life performance, Though for benchmark scores the OnePlus 5 scores much higher in the Antutu as well as the geek benchmark scores.

If we have to pick the winning horse here it is going to be the Oneplus 5.

OnePlus 5 runs Android 7.1.1 Android Nougat based on Oxygen OS with near stock experience while Honor 8 Pro runs Android 7.0 Nougat based on Emotion 5.1 UI. The EMUI offers a richer experience and has lots of features. While if you love the stock android look the Oxygen OS is your best bet.

On the connectivity side, both the smartphones have Bluetooth, 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi, GPS, etc. Both the smartphone support USB Type C and have 3.5 mm headphone jack.

OnePlus 5 comes with 64 GB internal storage which cannot be further expanded. Honor 8 Pro has 128 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB via Micro-SD card (Note: Honor 8 Pro has Hybrid Micro-SD card slot). So you need more storage the Honor 8 Pro has you covered unless you are going with the 128 GB /8 GB RAM OnePlus 5 variant.

This is a tough one and difficult to pick one over the other, but on paper, the Oneplus 5 wins the mega pixel war with ease. OnePlus 5 sports Dual Rear Camera (16 MP + 20 MP) with EIS i.e. Electrical Image Stabilization and it has 16 MP Front selfie Camera. There is one telephoto lens and the other one is a standard lens.

On the other hand, Honor Pro 8 also comes with Dual Rear Camera setup (12 MP + 12 MP) with one monochrome lens and one RGB lens and 8 MP Front Camera for selfies. Both the smartphones have Dual LED Flash.

The Oneplus 5 has a slight advantage over the Honor 8 Pro camera through the Honor 8 Pro camera is more consistent while the Oneplus 5 camera on some shots can do great and others may have an unclear subject focus. The camera App and UI on the Huawei Honor 8 Pro looks richer and comes with tons of features and improve the overall experience of the user. A close call here but we give the vote to OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5 packs 3300 mAh battery life while Honor 8 Pro is backed by a much larger 4000 mAh battery capacity. Both the smartphones have Non Removable battery and they also have Quick charging support, dash charging for the OnePlus 5 which is slightly faster to charge.

The Honor 8 Pro offers at least 15 to 20% more in terms of battery life and clearly a winner in the battery life contest. Though it is a bit bulkier compared to the OnePlus 5.

Verdict – Compare OnePlus 5 VS Huawei Honor 8 Pro – The Top Choice

Both are wonderful phones and it is a very tight contest. It is really very difficult to pick out a clear winner here.

OnePlus 5 If you wish to have a slightly better Camera, more performance, stock android Nougat experience and a device which is very light weight and easy to use with one hand the OnePlus 5 is the ideal choice.

Honor 8 Pro – Whereas if you want to watch the season 7 of Game of thrones on a bigger and better display and need more storage to keep all your videos and images, and a better battery backup the Honor 8 Pro is the top Choice.
