Gionee has launched its new Flagship smartphone Gionee Elife E 8 with great camera and gigantic screen, priced at Rs. 34,999.
The smartphone will be not be available in retail stores and will be launched exclusively on Snapdeal.
Seems like Gionee is switching gears and is moving from the pure retail sale model to the online band wagon. Arvind. R. Vohra, Country CEO & MD had a pro physical retail strategy, some time back we shared the Gionee vs Xiaomi contrasting strategy, which seems to be changing with the Gionee E8.
Display and design
The Elife E8 comes with a very large 6.0 inches AMOLED screen with QHD display resolution (2560×1440). The mammoth display is protected by the corning’s gorilla glass 3 protection.
It is more of a phablet than a smartphone, and competes with the Google Nexus 6 which also has similar display size.
The phone is built with premium poly-plastic, the back cover is removable with metal frame around the sides of the smartphone.
The phone reminds us of the Asus Zenfone 6 when looked from the back.
The phone measure 10 mm in thickness, quite high for Gionee’s standards.
Gionee E8 is a contrasting device as Gionee has created some of the thinnest smartphone in the Industry like the Gionee S 5.1 (5.1 mm thickness).
The 24 MP primary camera is the main highlight of the smartphone and the company says that it is really superior to the other similar priced smartphone camera’s. More in this claim when see the smartphone in action.
Gionee claims that the camera has very low focus lag, you can focus on the subject in 0.2 second and can take image in 0.4 second. It is an ideal smartphone for buyers loking for a superior camera smartphone.
At the front of the smartphone is an 8 megapixel camera, these are the best possible cameras a smartphone can get at present. Barring some of the 13 Megapixel front camera smartphones like the HTC Desire Eye or the Zenphone Selfie.
