MWC (Mobile World Congress) is the largest extravaganza on the planet for Mobile enthusiasts and Mobile companies.
Gionee too had something special to flaunt at the MWC this year – the latest Gionee Elife S8. The Gionee Elife S8 was released as the company’s Flagship product for 2016.
The Elife S8 is not just another Android phone with the ordinary features; it got some little things that make it stand apart from the crowd of smartphones.
Gionee Elife S8 comes with some of the unique features probably you will not find on the Samsung Galaxy S7 or even the LG G5.
You may have experienced Apple’s 3D Touch used in the latest iPhone 6s, and if you think features like these are only available for smartphones with a hefty price tag then Gionee will make you think again, with its 3D touch experience on the new Elife S8
The Elife S8 is the one of the first Android Smartphone to get a 3D touch, and it comes with three levels of pressure sensing, which recognizes touch, tap, and press.
Touch – To Select an Application
Tap – To Preview the contents of the APP
Press – To Open the App
Another unique feature of the Gionee Elife S8 is its ability to use two whats app account simultaneously, which means you can use WhatsApp on SIM 1 and SIM 2, as easy as making calls and texts.
If you are a dual sim user and want to may keep the personal WhatsApp group separate from the office groups this can be a nifty feature.
Now let’s get into the technical specifications for the Gionee Elife S8 and see how it fares concerning the competition.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED display, encased in a premium metallic body.
There are no ugly Antenna strips protruding on the smartphone’s back, but the strips are concealed around the edges.
The back side of the device carries a fingerprint sensor which is embossed with a 90 degree inverted G and a colon (G:) symbolizes the company’s new slogan “Make smiles.” (Check the above picture closely).
The smartphone unlike the LG G5 and the Samsung S7 has a MediaTek processor instead of the Snapdragon used in G5 and S7.
The Elife S8 is eligible to be called as high end but not a true flagship mobile with its Mediatek Helio P10 processor and 4 GB RAM. Sony is also using the Helio P10 Processor in the latest Sony Xperia XA mobile.
You also get large storage with the device; it has more than enough space for file storage with its 64 GB internal storage.
The Gionee Elife S8 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the Gionee’s Amigo UI 3.2 on top of it.
The rear camera offers excellent picture quality with a 16 Megapixels primary camera, and it comes with f 1.8 aperture. More white pixels to provide noise reduction and low light capabilities.
On the front of the device, we have the selfie shooter with an 8 MP resolution.
The battery for the smartphone is 3000 mAh and supports fast charging with an output voltage of 9 volts at 2 Amps.
Connectivity options include category 6 LTE with voice over LTE (VOLTE) support, on both the SIM. Smartphone also includes USB type C connector making it a more future proof device from the connectivity perspective.
