Gionee P7 – Affordable, Good Looking Mobile
Gionee after the launch of Gionee P7 Max has today unveiled the Gionee P7 in the Indian market. The new phone comes with a smaller display and is priced at Rs. 9,999. The Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 is the hottest selling category for the 4G LTE and Volte smartphones in India.
Also, it will go on sale soon online as well as offline. It will be available in Gold, Grey and white colors.
For starters, it comes with Dual SIm support and also offers 4G LTE as well as VOLTE support. The smartphone comes with a Micro USB port and has standard Connectivity options like WIFI, Bluetooth, 3G, and 2G. Gionee also claims that the Gionee P7 also comes with CDMA network support apart from the GSM.
Design and Display
The Mobile comes with a 5.0-inch display with HD(1280*720) pixels resolution, there is a soda lime glass coating at the top to protect from scratches. The device offers 293 PPI and the IPS capacitive display is ideal for watching movies and playing games. The Gionee P7 comes with a shiny glass back cover which have a reflecting surface.
It is similar to the Gionee P7 Max or some of the recent Asus Smartphones like the Zenfone 3 in appearance. Moreover, the Glass body makes the device bit less durable and slippery, a mobile cover is highly recommended.
Notably, it comes with an unknown quad-core processor with 1.3 GHz clock speed. It is a bit absurd for companies to conceal the vital specs like processor while sharing information on the official website. In fact, Gionee used an old MT 6595 processor in the Gionee P7 Max (MT 6595 was launched way back in 2014).
Nevertheless, they may have used something new in P7 from MediaTek. Additionally, there is 2 GB RAM to run the phone smoothly.
Coming to the storage the P7 offers 16 GB of internal storage which is pretty standard, and there is an option to expand the storage to 128 GB using the micro –sd card.
OS & Features
The Gionee P7 runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the Gionee custom skin Amigo 3.2. Gionee has improved a lot and has done a lot of custom development to include some Cool themes, special mood wallpapers, and an advanced app manager to ensure the smartphone has both style and functionality.
Furthermore, the Mobile comes with a mediocre 2300 mAH capacity battery which may not be sufficient to last all day for voracious users. It offers 259 Hrs (2G) / 258 Hrs (3G) / 188 Hrs (4G) / 258 Hrs (CDMA) as per the reported numbers by Gionee.
Notably, there is no fingerprint scanner which is a bit of a bummer for many young buyers looking for a quick unlocking feature. At Rs. 9,999, the Gionee P7 competes with the Redmi Note 3, Huawei Honor 5C, Le 1s, Lenovo K4 Note.
