Gionee at it’s home turf (China), launched the new Gionee S9 smartphone today. The Gionee S9 comes with a DUAL Rear camera and a 13 MP Sony + 5MP Samsung Sensor. The Dual Camera Module at the back is vertically aligned unlike Huawei Dual Camera smartphones which are horizontally aligned.
Dual Cameras are the new rage and many smartphones are coming with these, like the Huawei P9, Honor 8 and even the new iPhone 7 Plus.
The Dual rear camera allows users to adjust the depth of field after clicking the image and create a DSLR like bokeh effect. The smartphone also comes with a 13 Megapixel front facing camera with beatify mode and screen flash.
The smartphone is priced at CNY 2499 ($360) or Rs. 24,800 and will go on sale in China on 25th November 2016. The metallic smartphone will come in Gold, Rose Gold and Dark pitch black colors.
The Gionee S9 is powered by the Helio P10 (MTK 6755) Octa –Core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. The smartphone comes with 4 GB of Ram to ensure lag free multi-tasking. The Gionee S9 comes with 64 GB internal storage which is sufficient for most users however it can be expanded to 128 GB using a micro-sd card.
The smartphone has a 5.5 Inch IPS LCD Display and offers 1920*1080 pixels resolution. The Gionee S9 offers 401 PPI and also has 2.5 D Curve glass on top of the display panel to make the device look more premium.
The S9 runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the Amigo OS 3.5. The device comes with 3000 mAH battery capacity which is becoming a standard with most of the 5.5 Inch display mobiles. There is Dual Sim and 4G LTE / VOLTE support for high speed data connectivity.
The smartphone is sleek measuring just 7.4 mm in thickness and it weighs 168 grams.
The Gionee S9 comes with a fingerprint scanner which does more tasks than just unlocking the device. The Fingerprint scanner has support for locking APPS , Data and user information to ensure a higher level of security and privacy for the S9 users.
The Gionee S9 with it’s metallic design, Dual Rear & 13 MP front camera looks impressive, though we will have to wait for few weeks before any news of global launch surfaces.
