Oppo has become the number 1 smartphone brand in China (23% market share) as per a latest report published by IDC followed by Huawei (17%) and Vivo (12%). Oppo grew by 137% in second quarter that’s (April,May,June). Finally in Q2 of 2016, Oppo became the 4th largest Global smartphone manufacturer following the huge A listers, Samsung being the first, followed by Apple and Huawei.
The All new Oppo F1s also builds on the strong camera capabilities which Oppo has shown in the Oppo F1 and Oppo F1 Plus. The new Oppo F1S is priced at ₹17,990.
Design – The F1s is for sure better than the F1 but still lacks in some areas compared to more expensive F1 Plus. The Oppo F1s has an all metal uni-body design and looks gorgeous with refined curves and overall top notch build and finish. Definitely a head turner if you are looking for a stunning smartphone Oppo has got you covered.
The phone is quite thin , measuring at 154.5 x 76 x 7.4 mm and weighing at 160g. The Oppo F1 Plus is thinner and lighter.
Display – The phone sports a 5.5 HD display. The front is covered with 2.5D glass which adds premium looks. It also supports for glove and Wet touch.
Performance – The phone runs on Octa-core Mediatek MT6750 processor clocked at 1.5 Ghz along with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. It features 3 Gb RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with expandable option till 128 GB with the help of micro SD cards. To buyers delight, there’s a triple slot tray which has dual slots for sims and a separate slot for micro SD card.
Fingerprint Scanner – The F1S features a fingerprint at the front, integrated in the home button. You can even set different application to launch when you touch the sensor with different fingers, a nifty feature from Oppo. You can start the camera App and any other app with the index finger.
Camera – The main highlight of the phone are Oppo’s camera modules. It sports a 16 Megapixel f/2.0 front camera and 13 Megapixel f/2.2 rear camera. No it’s not a type the smartphone comes with a bigger lens front camera. The camera have 1/3.1 inch image sensor for cirsp and vivid selfies.
It has tons of filters available with beauty mode 4.0 which reduces the blemish in a soft way and makes the picture more beautiful and natural. It also sports a new feature called as Selfie Panorama. The Selfie panorama works similar to the normal panorama and gives you the ability to take selfie with a larger group and more background.
The large sensors also allow the user to click brighter natural and vivid low light shots as the sensor bumps up the dynamic range.
Battery capacity – Powering the phone is the 3075 mAh battery which is great to last all day long. It does not come with VOCC feature for fast charging which is there on Oppo F1 Plus.
Operating System – The F1S also sports a very dated Android Lollipop 5.1 with all new Color OS 3.0 on top. Egregiously, there is no Oppo smartphones running Marshmallow. While we are getting close to Android Nougat, Oppo is still basking in the past.
Availability and Pricing
All in all the phone is a decent upgrade to the previous Oppo F1 and comes at a slightly increased price of Rs. 17,990 (2K higher). It surely misses out on FHD Display, and the latest Android OS, which most competitors are offering at cheaper price. At this price point it’ll face competition from NextBit Robin, Moto G4 Plus, Lenovo Vibe P1M.
But again Oppo is no cheap Chinese brand, they ask premium for better build and design.
The F1S is priced at ₹17,990 and will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, Grey color options.
