Does the New Google Logo Look Better?
The little Blue “g” is gone now; let’s welcome the new big “G.” Today Google the name that becomes a verb got its new visual identity after 16 years.
Google Logo – New Look
Google Logo – Old Look
Everything from, Google’s home page, the “g” icon and even the voice search animation was changed, it’s a significant design change for all of its products in Google’s history, but Google says this is just a Tip of Iceberg and they got a long way to go.
At first, it looked like a usual Google doodle, and the logo was meant like created for crayon day, but the change of little blue “g” icon into four colored “G” on the browser Tab is shown that it was not just another Google Doodle.
Google said in the official Blog Post ” Today we’re introducing a new logo and identity family that reflects this reality and shows you when the Google magic is working for you, even on the tiniest screens. As you’ll see, we’ve taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs (such as tap, type, and talk).”
This isn’t the first time we’ve changed our look, and it probably won’t be the last, but we think today’s update is a great reflection of all the ways Google works for you across Search, Maps, Gmail, Chrome and many others. We think we’ve taken the best of Google (simple, uncluttered, colorful, friendly), and recast it not just for the Google of today, but for the Google of the future.
The new design was created by keeping in mind one thing, that people were using Google products in wide range of devices including watches, car dashboards, etc. so the new design will look better in those devices with small screens.
Google’s “g” logo in the blue background now changed into uppercase G with four color strips, and the search home image now looks smooth and simple than the previous.
Google has added an animation to its main search page to point out its new design like a hand rubs out the old Google logo and draws the new one; you can see the animation in search home.
