Ever since of the year, Micromax has been launching new smartphones, at least two per month. Micromax is planning to launch a high end smartphone in the Indian market soon with infinity display called as the “Micromax Canvas Infinity”.
Micromax started the year with the launch of its premium smartphone ever, the Micromax Dual 5. Priced at Rs. 24,999, the Dual 5 was a major disappointment for the brand. Not only the pricing disappointed the consumers, Micromax claims about the phone saying that they designed it for the last two years. All these were wrong because the Dual 5 was a rebranded Qiku smartphone.
And it looks like Micromax is short of smartphone names because the brand is just launching successors to its devices released earlier, to be precise back in 2012, and 2013 or maybe in its good days. Micromax has launched a new Yureka Black smartphone in June, and Yu Yunique 2 last month.

However, the company is now looking to introduce a new series of smartphone, and that too, a high-end series. Yes, a new report from various publications claims that Micromax will launch a new flagship smartphone under its new ‘Infinity’ series by the end of this month.
And yes, as the name itself suggests, the smartphone will have an Infinity display with an aspect ratio of 18:5:9. Micromax is looking to compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 duo and LG G6 smartphones in India. And yeah, Micromax will be the first Indian brand to launch an Infinity display smartphone.
Not only the display, but the Micromax Infinity smartphone will also feature top-notch hardware as well, suggests the same report. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and will come in two RAM variants- 4 GB Ram / 6 GB RAM. The device will offer storage up to 128 GB along with a microSD card slot as well.
However, the smartphone will come with a single rear camera setup, which would be underwhelming in 2017.
At the moment, the launch date of the device is unknown, but it will happen by the end of this month itself. We’re expecting Micromax to price the device aggressively, close to Rs. 40,000.
Micromax has actually launched the Canvas Infinity for just Rs. 10000.
