Huawei Honor 9X Launches on Flipkart For Rs. 13,999
Huawei has launched the new Honor 9X in India on 14th January and it will go on sale starting 19th January on Flipkart. There are few changes in configuration in comparison to the Honor 9x launched in China by the brand.
Notably, Huawei launched the Honor 9x and the 9x Pro in China back in July 2019 and after 7 months have brought the Honor 9x to India. There is no confirmation from the brand about the launching of Honor 9X Pro in India, so far.
Huawei has seen a massive drop in sales outside of China after the Android Ban, impacting the company outlook and jeopardizing its mobile business.
Moreover, Huawei’s troubles are receding with the partial lift of ban by the Donald Trump administration.
Notably, the Honor 8X was launched in October 2018, and it has taken a long time for the brand to get the Honor 9X to the Indian market.

Performance – Kirin 710 (Honor 9X)
Huawei launched the Honor 9X and the 9X Pro with Kirin 810 Processor in China but unfortunately, they have launched the 9X in India with a dated Kirin 710 processor.
Kirin 710 is based on the 12 Nm manufacturing process whereas Kirin 710 uses a more efficient 7 Nm process.
Also, the GPU is not as powerful, Kirin 710 comes with Mali-G51 GPU whereas the Kirin 810 comes with the Mali-G52 GPU.
Overall, the Kirin 710 is not thrilling and is comparable to the Snapdragon 710 found in similar price phones.
On the other hand, the Kirin 810 is blazing fast and beats the SD 730
Performance – Kirin 810 (Honor 9X Pro)
The most prominent upgrade is the new Kirin 810 Octa-Core processor which the company has unveiled recently. Notably, the Kirin 810 is manufactured using the cutting edge 7 Nm manufacturing process, similar to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (flagship processor).
The Kirin 810 uses two performance (Cortex -A76) Cores with a clock speed of 2.24 GHz and comes with six energy-efficient (Cortex-A55) cores with 1.55 GHz clock speed.
The Kirin 810 is 20% more energy-efficient as compared to the previous Gen Kirin 710 Octa-Core processor. The processor is coupled with ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU that offers superior performance than the Adreno 618 used in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730.
Another, key highlight for the Kirin 810 is the ability to outperform the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 in both Antutu and Geekbenchmark scores.
Kirin 710 Vs Kirin 810 Benchmark Scores (Honor 9x and 9X Pro)
- Antutu Score – 237,500
- Geekbench 4.0 Single-Core Score – 2832
- Geekbench 4.0 Multi-Core Score – 7859
- Antutu Score – 182,202
- Geekbench Single-Core Score – 1623
- Geekbench Multi-Core Score – 5496
The Kirin 810 is faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, 712 or even the Snapdragon 675 which are currently used in most mid-range phones from Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme.
RAM and Storage
For Honor 9x, there is 4 GB /6 GB of DDR4 ram to ensure a lag-free user experience. The good thing about the Honor 9X is large storage both variants come with 128 GB of internal storage space.
Further, the storage is expandable up to 512 GB using the micro-sd card.
For Photography, the 9X comes with impressive cameras and flaunts a 16 Megapixel motorized Pop-Up selfie camera.
Notably, the 9X comes with triple rear cameras with a 48MP primary lens, likely a Sony IMX 586 sensor that we have seen in several other phones.
Furthermore, the secondary cameras are an 8 MP shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor.
The camera has AI support and comes with an AIS super night mode support.
The new Honor mobiles are expected to come with 4000 mAH battery capacity. Also, the 9X Pro (China) has 22.5 Watts of Fast Charging support whereas the Honor 9X Indian version has a 10 Watts Charger.
Other Features, Price in India and China
Also, both devices will come with the EMUI 9.1 and Android Pie 9 with 128 GB storage.
There is USB Type C Port and even the 3.5 mm headphone jack is present, fortunately.
The Honor 9X is available in Black, Blue, and red colors.
