The Taiwanese Tech giant launched the HTC 10 (flagship device), in the month of May . The smartphone is currently priced close to 46,900 on Amazon India
The smartphone MRP set by HTC is Rs. 48,900 which looks absurd considering the competition and even their own flagship HTC 10 is priced much cheaper (around 42 K). HTC has added a sibling titled HTC 10 Evo which comes with some changes to the original flagship device.
Infact, the HTC 10 Evo is the global variant of the HTC Bolt which was launched for the US Telecom operator Sprint couple of months back. It is the same device as the HTC Bolt.
The HTC 10 Evo comes with a premium robustly build metallic design with precision cuts and top notch build quality. There are chamfered edges, Antenna bands, aluminum uni-body that feels superlative.
The HTC 10 EVO sports a 5.5 inch Super LCD3 capacitive screen with Quad HD resolution 2560*1440 pixels resolution. The added protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 makes it more reliable. The device comes with IP57 certification which means better dust & water protection.
The smartphone comes with a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor for great performance. Adreno 430 GPU is deployed for the graphics handling. This is a bit of downgrade as we mentioned in the Bolt 10 article as HTC is using an older generation of Qualcomm processor rather than the new Snapdragon 820 or the 821. But they can’t have a better or equivalent processor when compared to the Flagship HTC 10.
On the positive side, the HTC 10 Evo runs Android v7.0 Nougat with the HTC Sense UI, which now comes with least amount of bloat and utilizes most of stock Google Apps. There is 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB internal storage. Yet, the storage can be expanded up to 256 GB through SD card.
The HTC 10 came with a 12 MP rear camera with features like OIS, Auto Phase detection. The HTC 10 Evo comes with a 16 MP rear sensor with f/2.0 aperture. There are features like OIS, Auto phase detection, dual LED focus.
It features Geotagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, Panorama and 4K video recording. At the front there is an 8 MP shooter which also has Auto HDR and can record up to 1080P videos.
The HTC 10 Evo comes with BoomSound Adaptive Audio system, traditional HTC offering. Though the speakers are no more upfront, like older HTC phones. One set of speakers, lie within the ear piece on the top front. The other one is on the bottom besides the USB type C reversible port.
A finger print sensor is integrated in the home button for quick unlocking of the smartphone. HTC reports it take just 0.2 seconds to unlock the device. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Single Sim, Bluetooth. There is a 3200 mAH non-removable battery which will last all day long with moderate usage.
The HTC 10 Evo also supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology for faster charging. The HTC 10 EVO was launched on 24th November along with the HTC Desire 10 Pro in India at an event in New Delhi. The HTC Desire 10 Pro is priced at Rs. 26,490 and will go on sale in Mid December.
