HTC Bolt is the latest mobile by HTC in the US market. The mobile is even carrier specific – it is made for Sprint, a telecom player in the US.
HTC Bolt is exclusive to Sprint customers and comes with a $600 (Rs. 40,00) price tag. It has the ability to have a 5 times faster 4G LTE connectivity, in comparison to other phones on the same network.
The HTC Bolt is designed specifically to offer faster LTE connectivity with the Sprint Network. The name “Bolt” emphasize on the bolting fast data speeds.
Though there is a catch, HTC Bolt, however, can work faster in only selected US cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City and some more considering Sprint has deployed the network technology in only a few cities.
HTC Bolt has metallic built and looks like the HTC 10 though there are minor changes like the flash is on the top of the lens at the back a rather odd position for the flash.
The HTC Bolt is an ultra-modern smartphone like the iPhone 7 as it also ditches the 3.5 mm headphone jack and instead uses the USB Type C connector for music, charging and everything else.
While HTC has made it ultra-modern by removing the jack, they have launched it with last Gen Qualcomm processor.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 810 which was used in OnePlus 2 or the Google Nexus 6P. Though it is better than using some of the underpowered Mediatek Soc’s. There is also only 3 GB Ram while most smartphones in the high-end range are coming with 4 GB.
Besides, it comes with a 16 MP rear camera with OIS to ensure the images and videos are of good quality. The HTC Bolt is also capable of recording 4K videos.
However, it is not the same 12 MP lens that HTC has used on the Flagship HTC 10 this year. The HTC Bolt comes with an 8 Megapixel front camera to click selfies.
Also, it boasts of the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS and it runs along with the HTC Sense UI. There is something to cheer for HTC fans.
Further, there is a 5.5 inches Quad HD Display with 2560*1440 pixels. Also, The Bolt surprisingly has an IP57 rating which means it can handle an occasional splash of water.
It is the first metallic smartphone from HTC which comes with some kind of water and dust proofing.
The HTC Bolt has a fingerprint scanner embedded in the front home button to ensure quick unlocking.
Powering the phone is a 3200 mAH capacity battery which comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology to facilitate fast charging.
While the Bolt uses a last-gen processor, it is not sluggish in performance and comes with a lot of positive features.
