HTC’s new mid-range smartphone the HTC Desire 828 was unveiled in China couple of weeks back. The smartphone was priced at Rs. 16,499 or CNY 1599 (in Chinese Market). The smartphone has got listed today on the Flipkart website.
Update – 11 – December – 2015 – The new HTC Desire smartphone has got listed on Flipkart for a price of Rs. 19,990. The listing says that the smartphone will be coming soon, we expect it to launch in the next week on Flipkart.
HTC Desire 828
Performance – The HTC Desire 828 is powered by the MediaTek 6753 (Octa – Core 64 bit processor) clocked at 1.5 GHz.
The smartphone has 2 GB of Ram to ensure smooth multitasking.
Storage – HTC Desire 828 has 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded using a micro-sd card up to 2 TB.
Screen Size – The Desire 828 has a Full HD (1920*1080) IPS display with a screen size of 5.5 inches. The pixel density is 401. It is one of the cheapest smartphones from HTC which offers a full HD display screen.
Camera – The HTC Desire 828 comes with a true 13-megapixel camera with fast autofocus and led flash. The smartphone has an ultra pixel front camera to click selfies.
Connectivity – HTC Desire 828 offers fast 4G LTE data speeds along with the native support for WIFI/Bluetooth and 3G/2G data. The smartphone offers dual sim support.
Software – The HTC Desire 828 runs on the Android Lollipop 5.1 OS and comes with the signature HTC Sense 7.0 UI. HTC Sense UI is one of the most evolved UI which offers good customer experience.
Battery Capacity – HTC Desire 828 offers great battery life with the 2800 mAH battery capacity. Battery capacity has been an issue with a number of HTC smartphone models which came with lower battery capacity in last 1 year.
Sound – HTC has been ahead of most manufacturers as far as sound is concerned, HTC Desire 828 offers incredible sound with Dolby Audio and Boom sound speakers.
HTC has kept the pricing premium in the Indian market while rival Samsung has dropped prices wherever possible to maintain market share. The aggressive pricing from other Chinese brands in India has impacted HTC in mid and low-end range. While the premium smartphone market has been ruled by Apple & Samsung.
HTC may need a different strategy to boost sales in the Indian market or else the current state of affairs will continue.
