We spotted the smartphone in one of the large Reliance Digital Stores in Mumbai, same has also been spotted in some physical stores in Delhi as well. Though the smartphone is yet not available on online portals like Amazon, Flipkart & Snapdeal.

The unique selling proposition of the Desire Eye is it’s  incredible 13 MP front-facing camera, which even comes with a dual-tone dual-LED flash. The rear Camera also has the same resolution.

There is selfie craze among youngsters and weirder the selfie background, the more socially acceptable and viral it goes. The smartphone manufacturers like HTC have understood their need to take excellent selfies and is coming up with smartphones with an incredible front camera which can even make iPhone 6 look pale. Previously HTC launched its Selfie Smartphone HTC Desire 820  with an 8 MP front camera now it has unleashed the Selfie King(The best Selfie Smartphone).

Display and Performance

Other key features of the smartphone include the 5.2 inches Full HD with 1920*1080 pixel resolution, which makes reading blogs, and watching youtube videos blissful. The phone is driven by a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad Core Processor and  Adreno 330 GPU & 2 GB RAM, making gaming, multi-tasking buttery smooth.

Software and Battery

It runs on Android KitKat 4.4 with HTC’s custom UI (HTC Sense UI 6.0) which is very intuitive and pleasant to work with. The internal storage of the phone is 16 GB and its expandable up to 128 GB. The smartphone also has an IPX7 certification which prevents the phone from dust and water damage(up to 1 meter and 30 minutes), not like a Sony Z3 which has much more water and dust resistance capabilities.

The battery of the smartphone has only 2400 mAH capacity, and it provides 530 hours standby and 20 hours talk-time. The smartphone has an 8.5 mm thickness which is by no standard thin, compared to some of the thin sexy, stylish smartphones like Oppo R5 or Gionee S 5.1.

HTC Desire Eye has all the arsenal you need in your next smartphone, packs a punch if good selfies are on your mind.  The Screen resolution, Processor, storage, weight, Camera quality all is superb, the low point is the 2400 mAH battery, which may not make users happy, for an expensive smartphone with Rs. 35,000 price tag.

Though the battery is not as bad as it sounds, even a Nexus 5 packs a 2200 mAH battery, with some suitable battery saving tips, you can easily make it last entire day.
