Huawei Honor 6 Plus is the latest offering from the Chinese Tech giant that will go on sale in India on 24th March 2015. Huawei is able to expand in India thank it’s two vastly popular phones, the Huawei Honor holy (Rs. 7,000) and the Huawei Honor 6 available for Rs. 17,999.
It is yet not clear what will be the price of Huawei honor 6 plus but we expect it to launch around Rs. 24,000.
For starters, it has a thin frame with 7.5 mm thickness and borrows some design elements from the Huawei honor 6. The back cover is the toughened glass and sides have a metallic looking strip, however, is made of special plastic material.
The Honor Logo is at the back along with the Dual 8 MP cameras that are the key highlight of this device. Notably, the back cover has a fine texture and it is not plain.
Further, it weighs 165 grams and has a 73% screen to body ratio which is good since lower space is used by the bezels and body.
Screen Size and Resolution
The Honor 6 Plus has a 5.5-inch screen size with a 1920*1080 resolution and that results in 401 pixels per inch that are similar to iPhone 6 Plus. The screen uses IPS LCD touch panel. Also, it comes with a larger display in comparison to the Honor 6 (5.0 Inch screen).
The Dual LED Camera is the highlight of the smartphone, however, it is not the only upgrade compared to the Honor 6. The Dual LED camera is more like the HTC M8 camera, it gives you the option to click the image and re-adjust the focus later. You can even focus on the object you want in the picture and add a blur to the surrounding environment or add a bokeh to the image.
Also, Huawei has used a sensor with a larger 1.98-micron pixel size. This makes the camera better for clicking sharp pictures even in low light conditions. Once again I would like to tell Candytech readers that higher MP camera doesn’t mean better picture quality. Moreover, the rear camera has a quick 0.1-second focus for shooting fast-moving subjects
Huawei has added a delightful front-facing 8-megapixel camera for all the selfie needs.
Powering the phone is an Octa-core Processor, HiSilicon Kirin 925 (Quad-core Cortex-A15 & Quad-core Cortex-A7) and Mali-T628 MP4. It is ideal for playing any games on its Full HD display. The processor is incredibly powerful and offers a lag free experience while multitasking. Additionally, it offers 3 GB RAM which is more than enough to run Android KitKat and future updates.
Notably, it is a dual Sim mobile with 4G LTE connectivity along with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
Furthermore, it runs on the Android KitKat 4.4.4 out of the box. The Android KitKat is the most popular Operating system currently, however, users want the Android Lollipop in the new smartphones.
The Huawei Honor Plus may get the Android Lollipop update soon. However, currently, it has Android Kitakat with Emotion UI 3.0.
Besides, the Emotion UI 3.0 offers slightly different experience than the stock Android with no app drawer. You can access apps from the Icons only more like the Apple iOS.
Also, the lock screen is different from Stock Android, allowing you with quick access to media controls, a calculator, and a flashlight.
The internal storage is 32 GB and also supports Micro SD card upto capacity of 128 GB.
Lastly, the battery life is pretty decent with Non-removable Li-Po 3600 mAh battery. It is enough to last a day or even more with moderate to heavy usage.
Considering the smartphone features, specs and build quality if it is launched around 24,000 it will be a good deal for buyers looking at a 5.5-inch FHD Display, high performance, impressive specs smartphone.
