Huawei has just launched three smartphones in India today. They cater to different segments to tap on the huge smartphone demand for the festive season. The Chinese company has launched Honor 8, Honor 8 Smart and Honor Holly 3. Honor Holly 3 is the budget smartphone which is the first “Made in India” smartphone by any Chinese manufacturer.
Honor Holly 3 has a 5.5 display with 720p HD resolution. The operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it comes with the company’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top.
Holly 3 has a 13-megapixel rear camera which comes with BSI sensor and a f/2.0 aperture on the back. Nowadays since the front camera matters more to buyers than the rear camera, Huawei has provided an 8 MP front camera with f/2.0 for taking better selfies. Most smartphones in this range come with a 5 MP camera.
Under the hood, it has 1.2 GHz Octa-core Kirin 620 processor which will be good enough to handle most of the tasks. But Kirin 620 is a dated processor which was launched back in December 2014 and its performance is comparable to Snapdragon 410.
So it might not be as powerful as Snapdragon 430 in Redmi 3s Prime or Snapdragon 650 in Redmi Note 3.
There is 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via external SD card. To keep up the things at power, there is a 3100 mAh battery which should be good enough for a full day use since it has a 720p display.
Holly 3 has all the major connectivity options like 4G LTE/ VOlTE, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Micro USB and Bluetooth v4.0. It also has sensors like accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, compass, and G-sensor.
The smartphone will be sold at the price tag of 9,999 Rs and will be available in three colors which are white, black and gold. Comparing the Specs the Holly 3 looks little weak against premium built smartphones with more powerful processors like the Redmi Note 3 or LeEco Le 2 in the similar price range. It will be interesting to see how it performs in the Indian market.
Huawei also launched Honor 8 which is the high-end smartphone with Dual Rear camera. It has a 5.2 inch Full HD display with aluminum body and the same dual camera system just like the Huawei P9. It has been launched at Rs. 29,999. Along with Honor 8, Huawei has launched Honor 8 Smart with 5.2 inch Full HD display, aluminum body and 13 MP camera at the price point of Rs 19,999 only.
