Huawei’s Growth to Number 2 Spot
Huawei is building some cutting edge technology and also was one of the first company to embrace the “dual camera set-up”.
After revolutionizing this aspect, it strives harder every year to make it to the top and be “largest smartphone maker”. Recently they overtook Apple in terms of smartphone shipments and trail behind the global leader Samsung.
This speaks volumes in terms of their technology upgrade power year after year and might soon be a serious threat to Samsung holding the number 1 spot.
According to VentureBeat’s Evan Blass; Huawei is all set to release 3 Mate products; Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Lite on October 16th of this year.
The new Mate smartphones are alleged to come with 4 camera module -2 rear, 2 front.
Both the front and back will feature dual camera set-up making it a pretty intense job for the processor. Which also somehow explains the power of the Kirin 659 processor Huawei will offer in order to run all 4 cameras.
Huawei Mate 10 Lite
Huawei smartphones come with one RGB and one Monochrome sensors which then worked together to combine the images and give a detailed end result.
The Mate 10 Lite will come with 16 MP rear sensor and 13 MP front sensor; both paired with 2 MP sensor in order to create cool looking portrait shots.
The Lite option is rumored to flaunt a 5.9 inch FHD LCD display. It’s powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 SOC paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone will ship with 64GB of internal storage and will also allow storage expansion for heavy users out there.
There’s a 3340mAh battery driving the handset and it would run Android N out of the box. According to rumors it’ll be available in Black, Blue and Gold option for $450.
Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro
Speaking of the flagship variants aka Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Both the smartphones are said to share similar design language. It’ll flaunt an 18:9 display ratio with smooth metallic back and a fingerprint sensor just below the camera modules.
Both the phones are tipped to sport 5.99 inch QHD “EntireView” display upfront. It’s pretty obvious that these would be driven by their latest in-house Kirin 970 SOC.
Huawei Mate 10 Versions and Price
- Huawei Mate 10 – 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage
- Huawei Mate 10 – 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage
- Huawei Mate 10 – 6 GB RAM, 256 GB storage
These would be available at prices following;
- $649 (approx Rs 42,000)
- $740 (approx Rs 48,000)
- $845 (approx Rs 55,000)
Apart from this there’s no word on what set of optics would they sport or what battery capacity would be used; everything is a secret for now.
Where as the Mate 10 Pro variant would have 4 variants and would effectively justify the “Pro” in its name.
It’ll be available in following configurations;
- 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, $830 (approx Rs 54,000)
- 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, $936 (approx Rs 60,000)
- 6GB RAM, 256GB storage, $1042 (approx Rs 68,000)
- 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, $1132 (approx Rs 74,000)
It’s somehow absurd to see, most of the OEMs going all out in terms of specifications and pricing as well. Most the flagships in 2017 are either costing near or above $1000 mark. Hopefully, this high price tag should not backfire for Huawei.
Huawei has finally launched the Mate 10 Series.
