Huawei has launched the new giant screen Mate 8. The monstrous smartphone with a large screen and beastly Kirin 950 processor has debuted in China.
The Kirin 950 is the fastest processor available in production today, with an Antutu score of 80,000 it breaks the record of Samsung Galaxy S6 (Exynos 7420).
The new smartphone will run on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box running along with the EMUI 4.0 and comes loaded with some impressive specifications.
The company unveiled the smartphone a month ago, and now the sales have begun in China.
The company is also planned to make one million units of Huawei Mate 8 as it is getting a good response from customers in China. The smartphone will be launched in the Global markets as well as India.
Huawei touts the Huawei Mate 8 to be a high performance, and long life smartphone claims that the built material used for the smartphone is an E19 grade aluminum, (the one that is used in Aircraft) keeping the smartphone light and durable.
Powering the smartphone is a Kirin 950 processor ( 2.3GHz Cortex-A72 quad-core + 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 quad-core) having double the processing power than the Kirin 930 soc and has low power consumption as well.
The Kirin 950 brings with it an i5 co-processor, which will handle speech recognition, reduced location-based power consumption, and other lighter tasks to ensure longer battery life.
The screen measures 6 inches with Full HD display (1080*1920), and Mali T880 MP4 GPU controls the graphics.
The smartphone comes in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM versions with 32 and 64 GB storage respectively. There is also a 128 GB version which will cost around Rs. 45000.
The Huawei Mate 8 comes with 16 MP Sony IMX 298 camera at the back and an 8 MP Sony IMX179 for the front. The camera comes with features like Optical image stabilization and phase detection autofocus found in high-end smartphones for responsive photography.
The device provides enhanced security which is hard to break in.
It includes features like real-time encryption and remote control. Also, a fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear below the camera. The smartphone also supports the micro-sd card for extension of storage.
The Huawei Mate 8 packs a massive 4000 mAh battery to last longer with 30% less power consumption by the processor when compared to its predecessor.
Additionally, Marshmallow’s smart battery saving feature DOZE will prevent power drains and extend the battery life even more.
The smartphone has dual Sim support and comes with 4G LTE along with the backing for native 3G and 2G.
The Huawei Mate has 182 grams weight and has a thickness of 7.9 mm which makes it less bulky phablet.
