Dual Camera Huawei Mate 9 Launch
Huawei Mate 9 is unveiled and it is the perfect replacement for the Samsung Note 7. If you are looking for a large display phone to fill the gap of 5.7 inches Note 7, Huawei Mate 9 with a 5.9-inch display may sound exciting.
For starters, it comes with a very thin bezel design and offers high screen to body ratio. Also, the lower bezels make the Huawei Mate 9 a bit smaller in comparison to other similar display size devices.
It looks really premium with a precision finish that we have already experienced on the Huawei P9 and Google Nexus 6P. Moreover, Huawei Mate 9 has a stunning front side with Full HD Display and 2.5 D Curved glass. The rear side has a slightly curved back and the twin camera resides along with the fingerprint sensor.
Notably, the Mate 9 comes in two models, first, a normal Huawei Mate 9 variant and second, is a limited edition Porsche Mate 9. The Porche edition will be available from January. Noticeably, the Porsche Mate 9 is designed and marketed in collaboration with the famous Automaker Porsche.
The limited edition variant will have more curved edges, higher resolution display, and more RAM. It will be available for an eye-watering price of Rs. 96,200 or $1549 while the Normal variant will go on sale for Rs. 51,000 or $776.
For photography, the Mate 9 has Dual Rear 20 MP cameras and an 8 MP front snapper with dual led flash.
Further, the mobile flaunts the one-piece metal structure with an impressive range of colors like Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown & Ceramic White.
However, the limited Porsche edition is available only in graphite black (a deep black version).

The Mate 9 packed in a 5.9 IPS-NEO LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 1080×1920 pixels resolution. Yes, 1080P screen is a bit odd for this screen size and especially in a premium device. The 1080P is screen resolution does elevate the Battery back-up but we would have liked a Quad HD OLED like the Samsung Note 7.
The screen has a 373 ppi pixel density which does look good and also comes with a Corning gorilla glass 4 protection & 2.5D Curve glass.
The Dual rear camera has a 20 MP Monochrome lens with a f/2.2 aperture which allows the user to take black & white snaps and a 12 MP (RGB) snapper to help you record even 4K videos with a lot better quality. Like the Huawei P9, the Mate 9 also features a Leica branded lens.
The Rear camera has OIS, face detection, 2 x optical zoom to ensure superior imaging.
Under the dual rear camera, there is a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking of Huawei Mate 9.
The front 8 MP shooter comes with a f/1.9 aperture which is sure to leave a smile on your face while you capture memorable happy moments.
The Huawei Mate 9 also carries the tradition of long battery life with a non-removable 4000 mAH non Li-Po battery. Thanks to the Huawei fast charging smart technology and USB-C port mate 9 can charge rapidly.
The Mate 9 comes with 3.5 mm audio jack with active noise cancellation and dedicated mic and Bluetooth V4. Alongside, the audio jack is the IR blaster.
The smartphone is launched today (3rd November) in Germany while the Porsche edition will go on sale in January 2017. The Huawei Mate 9 is a very well made smartphone and it does fill the shoes of Samsung Note 7, but can it match the Note 7 in camera and overall user experience, we will be able to conclude in near future.
