The latest from the Huawei is the Honor 7 which got unveiled in China on 30th June 2015. Huawei had been very aggressive in its product launch and pricing in the last year and it operates in 70 countries with an annual turnover of 2.6 billion Dollar in 2015.
Huawei in a press conference in Beijing announced the new Huawei Honor 7, the flagship smartphone which has all metal alloy body and comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device below the camera lens.
Huawei also announced that they plan to double the shipments in 2016 from current 20 million to 40 million smartphones. Huawei is currently world’s fourth largest smartphone manufacturer.
Along with the new Honor 7 company also announced two new gadgets – a smart wearable device called the Honor Band Zero and a Bluetooth headset called the Honor Whistle.
The smartphone boasts of a metallic design and is available in gold, silver and grey shades. The fingerprint scanner below the rear camera makes it look even more sophisticated.
The Huawei Honor 7 is powered by the all new latest generation processor Kirin 935 which is clocked at 2.2 GHz. The processor has big.LITTLE architecture with 4 A53 cores clocked at 2.2 Ghz and 4 A53 1.5 Ghz cores, It is also paired with the incredibly fast Mali T628 GPU which is great for gaming and graphics intensive applications.
Huawei has also equipped the Honor 7 with 3 GB RAM and smartphone variants will start with 16 GB to 64 GB internal memory with the ability to add more external memory using the micro SD card upto 128 GB.
The smartphone has an IPS LCD 5.2 inch display, with 1920*1080 resolution, which offers a good 423 PPI display. Notably, Huawei is still using the 1080p display in the flagship while Samsung and HTC have already moved up to 2K display in their flagship smartphones.
The Huawei Honor 7 has a good rear camera with 20 MP Sony IMX230 sensor which offers face detection, fast Autofocus in less than 0.1 seconds. You can capture moving objects and kids with ease using the fast focus camera of Huawei Honor 7. The rear camera sensor has an F 2.0 aperture 6 lens stack and sapphire glass protection which protect the lens against any accidental scratching.
The Front camera is also made to give selfie lover a treat with 8 MP with fixed focus and f/2.4 aperture lens.
The smartphone also boasts of 4G LTE connectivity along with the native connectivity options like 3G/WIFI/Bluetooth.
The battery capacity is also great with 3100 mah Battery and Huawei claims that the battery can be charged from 0-100% in less than 1 hours and 30 minutes which is pretty amazing. It only takes 30 minutes to get 50% charge on the smartphone.
The Huawei Honor 7 runs on the company owned EMUI version 3.1 on top of the latest Android Lollipop 5.0. The smartphone has an adequate thickness of 8.5 mm and weighs 157 grams which are also fine for the screen size.
The pricing for the Honor 7 is really competitive it starts at 1999 Chinese Yuan, or about $323 (Rs. 20,000). It can be the cheapest smartphone you could buy with the fingerprint sensor and when Android M comes you may see more use of the technology. In the Indian market, we may see the smartphone getting launch considering Huawei has been fairly aggressive.
Early Leaks and details About the Huawei Honor 7
Huawei Honor 7 with 4GB RAM to Launch in June End
Huawei is planning to launch the successor to the Huawei Honor 6 which is currently available for Rs. 16,999. The new Huawei will be known as the Huawei Honor 7 and can debut on 24th June 2015.
There was a recent leak from one of the Chinese site mobile-dad.com & Gizmo China which revealed the new smartphone. The Huawei Honor 7 is expected to run on the latest Hisilicon Kirin 935 processor, the new processor is 64 Bit Octa-Core and has support for 4G LTE.
The smartphone will also feature 4 GB RAM which is the latest Swag after the Asus Zenphone 2 got launched with the 4 GB random access memory. There were some early leaks which suggested that the Huawei Honor 7 has 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. The current rumors indicate that the storage can be 64 GB along with the 4 GB RAM.
We can be looking at two different models of Huawei Honor 7, one with 16 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM and other with 4GB RAM and 64 GB memory.
The pricing for the 16 GB model is expected to be 322 dollars or Rs.20,000. The 4 GB model is expected to launch at $400 or Rs. 24,000.
As per the leaks, the Display for the smartphone is going to be 5.0 inch with 1920*1080 resolution and 443 PPI.
The smartphone will run on the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 and EMUI 3.1 which will make the user experience much better compared to the current generation of Huawei smartphones running on the Android KitKat and EMUI version 3.0.
