Huawei has transformed from a lesser known Chinese company to a globally renowned mobile manufacturer.
And to keep up with rivals like Oppo and Xiaomi, the brand is rapidly expanding its product portfolio. The latest addition to the global collection is the Huawei Y7 Prime. Moreover, they recently introduced Huawei Y7 and Y6 in China, in fact prior to the launch of Y7 Prime.
If you recall, the Y7 Prime is available in China named as Huawei Enjoy 7. That said, only the phone’s moniker has changed. Huawei does this quite often.
The Huawei Y7 Prime is available only in Hong Kong, for now, and it’s unknown if and when they will launch the phone in India or other countries.
Besides, Huawei should bring it to India to compete with the aggressively priced Xiaomi Redmi phones.
Let’s check out the detailed specs and features of the Y7 Prime.
For starters, the Huawei Y7 Prime has a 5.5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and even comes with a 2.5D curved glass. Also, the display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Furthermore, the device is armed with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 processor. The four performance Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.4 GHz while the other four power-efficient cores are clocked at 1.1 GHz. The Adreno 505 take care of graphics.
Huawei has gone with a 3 GB of RAM module and 32 GB of internal storage option, which can also be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.1 that has features such as dual apps, advanced doze mode, multi-window mode, etc.
Additionally, Y7 prime may not get the Android O update, since its an entry-level device.
This dual-SIM smartphone comes with a 12 MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF.
For taking selfies, the front-facing camera has an 8 MP lens, without a dedicated flash.
Below the rear camera, there is a voguish fingerprint reader for quick unlocking. Notably, there is no home button at the front, and you need to use the onscreen keys for navigation.
It is not very sleek, weighs 165 gram and measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm. But it has a strong reason for not being thin.
The salient feature of the Y7 Prime is the 4000mAh battery, that can deliver two days of battery life with a single charge. A good enough reason to be a bit bulky. Further, the phone has fast charging support.
Lastly, it has connectivity options such as the WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. It even has support for 4G LTE and VOLTE, and will work flawlessly with JIO or any other sim.
