The Chinese tech giant Meizu has unveiled thin, stylish and cutting edge Android flagship smartphone Meizu Pro 6. The grand event was held  yesterday in China to unveil the successor to last year’s flagship Meizu Pro5.

Meizu Pro 6 boasts of a new 10 Core processor made by the Taiwanese chip maker Mediatek. The 10 Cores Mediatek Helio X25 comes with 2.5 GHz Dual-core Cortex-A72, 2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 & 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53.

The monstrous processor offers improved performance and adrenaline-charged gaming experience along with the Mali-T880 MP4.

The Helio X25 is debuted with the Meizu Pro 6 and is also the latest processor from Mediatek. Helio X25 competes with the Samsung Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 processor; which are the best SOC’s available in the world currently.

Joining the club of 4 GB RAM flagship devices , Meizu Pro 6 demonstrate excellent multitasking capability.

The Meizu Pro 6 is thin and lite when compared to the Meizu Pro 5. The succession came quickly, as the Meizu Pro 5 got launched in September 2015 (7 months old).

Smartphone world changes at the speed of light.  The Meizu Pro 6 measures 7.25 mm in thickness and has a weight of 160 gram.

The smartphone comes with ideal size, 5.2 inch display with unfathomable 3D touch running on Android OS.   It is similar to the iPhone 6s 3D touch. It will be interesting to see how well Meizu has implemented it, to make best use of Apps. The pressure sensitive touch screen used by Meizu creates similar blur effect on force press seen in the iPhone 6s.

The display is Full HD and comes with 1920*1080 pixels with a 422 PPI,  and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.

The smartphone runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the Flyme OS 6.

The Meizu PRO 6 comes in 32 GB and 64 GB variants and also has support to add upto 128 GB of memory card.

Against current trend of flagship Cameras coming with 12 Mega pixel sensor.  Meizu Pro 6 comes with 21 MP Sony IMX 230 sensor with f/2.2 aperture with laser and phase detection auto focus. The rear camera comes with a distinctive 10 LED ring flash, placed below the rear camera.

The front camera comes with 5 Mega pixel f/2.0 aperture.  Both the cameras are quite similar to the one on the Meizu M5 Pro.

Design to astound the Meizu Pro 6 resembles the iPhone 6s but comes with much thinner antenna lines; the only flaw, in otherwise perfect design of iPhone 6s. Meizu taking a dig at Apple said the PRO 6 has 48% lesser plastic in-comparison to the iPhone 6s.

The smartphone comes with a faster fingerprint scanner which Meizu claims can unlock the smartphone in just 0.2 seconds. Battery capacity is one area where Meizu Pro 6 falls behind the competing Xiaomi Mi5 and the Huawei P9.

Downheartedly, it comes with 2560 mAH capacity battery. Making up for that, Meizu’s m.charge 3.0 technology can charge the smartphone in 1 hour, and also comes with protection from short circuit and high temperatures.

Meizu Pro 6 edges over Samsung S7 with the integration of USB Type C port. Samsung S7 uses a micro USB.

Incredible Audio makes the Meizu Pro 6 the inexpensive flagship smartphone, audiophiles would drool over. The Cirrus Logic CS43L36 chip delivers best quality audio and is a part you can find in latest iPhone too.

Tim Cook may mistook it for an iPhone.

The smartphone is priced at $400 (Rs. 25,500) for the 32 GB version while the 64 GB version costs $430 (Rs. 27000).

The Meizu Pro 5 was not able to make its way to India, we would be eagerly awaiting for Meizu to bring the new Pro 6 to Indian market. We will update in case there is some positive news about the Pro 6 coming to India.
