Infocus the lone American tech giant in the Indian mobile Arena is gearing to launch a new mid-range smartphone on 25th October. Infocus Epic 1 is priced at Rs. 12,999 and will be available for purchase from Amazon India exclusively.

The company has been teasing about the new Infocus Epic 1 on Social Media and calling it as an extraordinary smartphone, “It’s a 10”. 

MediaTek Helio X20

The Infocus Epic 1 comes with a 10 Core Processor ” Mediatek Helio X20″ The Mediatek Helio X 20 processor has got featured in smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and the Meizu MX6.

The Helio X 20 chipset comes with tri cluster architecture  – 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz,  4 Cortex A-53 Cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and 2 Cortex A-72 high powered cores clocked at 2. GHz. Additionally, there is  Mali T880 MP4 GPU, which is excellent for the gaming experience.

The (MTK 6797) Helio X20 is built with 20 Nm Process and comes with an Antutu Score of 92,000.  Consider the Processor and price range it could be the most powerful smartphone below Rs. 15,000 in India and will rival the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Mi Max and the LE 2, powered by Snapdragon 652 /650.

The Infocus Epic 1 comes with 5.5 Inch display and will have Full HD resolution (1920*1080) pixels. It is likely to get the Corning Gorilla Glass protection and may also get the 2.5 D curve glass.

The image shared by Infocus showcase a metallic back for the Epic 1 and will come with a 16 Mega pixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture along with Dual Tone LED flash and Phase Detection Autofocus.

Also, it boasts of a decent 8 MP Front camera to click selfies that even comes with a front flash.

The Dual Sim phone comes with 4G LTE support along with Volte to work with Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, and the JIO 4G Sim.

Furthermore, it runs on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with the InLife UI 2.0 to offer a decent user experience.

The smartphone has 3 GB Ram to ensure smoother multi-tasking and game-play experience.

The Epic 1 offers 32 GB of internal storage with expandable micro-sd card support. It has got 2 nano sim slots and a dedicated Micro-SD card slot to ensure you can use Dual sims and a Micro- Sd card slot simultaneously.

USB Type C port is another surprise addition to this budget mobile, and it is one of the cheapest phones featuring a USB Type C port in the sub 15k price range.

Recently, Xiaomi has launched the affordable Mi A1 that also comes with Dual Rear cameras and even has the USB Type C Port.

The battery life is also decent as it comes with a 3000 mAH capacity battery.

Overall the Infocus Epic 1 looks “Epic” as far as the specs go.

The teaser campaign from Infocus says it’s an “Oh My God !! It’s A 10” saying about the extraordinarily powerful Helio X20 processor and having everything on a low budget smartphone.
