Infocus has launched a new selfie smartphone in India with an improved 13 Megapixel front camera to delight selfie lovers. The smartphone is quite affordable, priced at Rs. 11,999. It is the successor to the Infocus M535 which was launched last year and came with an 8 MP front camera.
Infocus is also offering a free selfie stick worth Rs. 1,000 to the buyers. The smartphone will go on sale starting 26th July in retail and will also become available online soon.
The Infocus M535 Plus has a neat front design with Infocus written below the top speaker grill. The smartphone sports a metallic uni-body design and is available in gold and silver color variants. There is circular camera dial at the back with a small sized Led flash. The antenna lines are visible on the back surface but are not very wide.
The Infocus M535 Plus comes with the most popular screen size (5.5 inches) and has a Full HD Display (1920*1080) pixels, 401 PPI. Display is good for reading as well as watching videos and a welcome upgrade from the HD display on the older Infocus M535.
The smartphone comes with 13 MP front facing camera with with a Samsung 3L2 sensor and ability to auto-focus , it is the highlight feature for the Infocus M535 Plus. There is also a 13 Megapixel rear camera with Samsung 3M2 sensor to click images.
The Infocus M535 Plus runs on the latest OS Android Marshmallow 6.0 to offer better user experience. The smartphone has a mediocre battery capacity with 2600 mAH battery size. There are competition smartphones in this price range like the Huawei Honor 5X , Redmi Note 3 and the Lenovo K4 Note which offer better battery back up.
The smartphone is powered by the Octa-core Mediatek 64 Bit Processor MTK 6753, clocked at 1.3 GHz. ( The same processor has been used in many smartphones like Lenovo K4 Note and Coolpad Note 3). The processor is decent and is accompanied with 3 GB of Ram to ensure smooth multi-tasking and lag free user experience.
The Infocus M535 Plus is quite thin and sleek and may please many buyers, it has a thickness of just 7.2 mm almost as thin as the iPhone 6s (6.9 mm). The smartphone is also not too heavy and measures 150 grams.
The Infocus M535 Plus has 16 GB of internal storage which feels a bit low compared to the rivals offering 32 GB storage in this price range. Though you can expand the storage to 64 GB with the help of a micro-sd card.
The smartphone has 4G LTE and VOLTE support and can be used with the high speed 4G network offered by various Indian telecom players. Most of the smartphones are now coming with 4G LTE support and we will have more affordable 4G plans once Reliance JIO launches later this year. The competition like Airtel , Idea and Vodafone will also drop the price for data packs significantly in the coming months to keep the subscribers happy.
Overall the Infocus M535 Plus looks like a good deal with the great front selfie camera but on the other hand I would have liked a bit more storage and a larger battery. It is one of the good looking sleek metal smartphones with ability to click great selfies for sharing on Instagram and Facebook.
