Intex Launches Aqua Lions 4G for Rs. 5499

Intex is on a launch spree, just 10 days back Intex has launched 3 new 4G capable Aqua series smartphones in India. Today there is a new addition to the portfolio – Intex Aqua Lions. It is a pretty strange name for a smartphone “Aquatic Lion”.

Intex has priced the smartphone at Rs 5,499, and it is already listed on the official website. The smartphone will be available in Grey and Champagne Gold color variants.

The phone comes with a design language different from other Aqua smartphones. The Aqua Lions have a clean front with no branding up front.

Although, there’s certainly thick bezels across the 5-inch FWVGA display. The smartphone display panel has 66.5% of screen-to-body ratio, which is abysmally low.

The back, on the other hand, looks similar to the design found on Honor 7. The flat back with somewhat tapered edges meeting the flat sides.  There’s no 2.5 D glass used and instead, they’ve gone with the traditional flat glass, neither we expect that in this budget.

Coming to the SOC powering it, the Aqua Lions is running a Quad-Core Spreadtrum chipset clocked at 1.3 GHz paired with Mali-400 GPU.

The processor is coupled with 1 GB of RAM. There’s 8 GB of internal storage, out of which only 4.7 GB is available for the user. There’s also an option of expanding the storage up to 64 GB with the help of micro SD card.

The Aqua Lions is a dual SIM phone and accepts micro SIMs on both the slots. It has a hybrid sim slot on which you can either use the second sim or the micro-sd card. It supports 4G LTE as well as VoLTE, as justified in the name itself. You can use JIO, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone 4G sim with the Intex Aqua Lions 4G.

The phone offers a 5 MP rear and a 2 MP (Fixed Focus) front camera. Powering the phone is a 2000 mAh battery. The Aqua Lions measure 9.8mm thickness (is very high considering the battery capacity) and weighs approx 146 grams.

The company claims that it can give up to 350 hrs of standby time and up to 8 hrs of talk-time.

It ships with Android Marshmallow 6.0 out of the box and supports their usual miFon security, Tap and Buy, QR Code apps.The box contains, Handset, battery, screen guard, flip cover, user manual, adapter, earphones and USB cable.

Should You Buy the Intex Aqua Lions

The price tag of Rs 5,499 compels it to compete with their own Intex Aqua 4.0, Aqua Crystal. There are a lot of options to consider if you are looking forward to buying a phone in the Rs 4000 to Rs 5000 price range and here is an article you can refer to make your purchase decision.
