Panasonic Launches 2 New Mid-Range Phones in India
Panasonic has launched all new Panasonic Eluga A3 and A3 Pro at Rs 11,290 and Rs 12,790 respectively. It’ll be available to buy via offline channels from today, 10-August-2017.
The key highlight of the new Panasonic phones is the artificial intelligence named ARBO. It’ll be an inbuilt feature in all the Panasonic smartphones from now. It’s probably the cheapest smartphone to come with 2 AIs, the second one from Google.
Both A3 and A3 Pro have an all-metal unibody design and they look identical. However, the specs for both are slightly different.
The design is boxy from the front and sports a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.
The presence of 4000 mAh battery makes them a tad thicker, measuring 9 mm in thickness. Moreover, they weigh close to 160 grams that is not too heavy.
The A3 and A3 Pro sports a 5.2-inch HD display (1280*720) pixels, protected by Asahi Dragon Trial glass coating.
Powering the A3 is the MediaTek MT6737 SOC. On the other hand, the Pro variant runs on a slightly more powerful MediaTek MT6753 chipset.
The A3 comes with 3GB RAM/16GB storage, whereas the A3 Pro has 3GB/32GB storage. The phones allow storage expansion upto 128 GB with the help of micro SD cards.
Furthermore, they run on the latest OS from Google, Android Nougat that is now present on 13.5% of mobiles globally.
Both A3 and A3 Pro flaunt a 13 MP rear camera with PDAF support. For clicking selfies, both come with an 8MP camera.
On the connectivity front, they feature Dual SIM, WiFi, GPS, OTG, 4G/VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB 2.0 port.
The only difference between the smartphones is the processor and the internal storage capacities, rest everything is same in the Elua A3 and A3 Pro. The smartphones will be available in Gold, Mocha Gold and Grey color options in the market as well as online.
President & CEO, Panasonic India & South Asia; Mr. Manish Sharma said, “We believe our in-house developed artificial intelligence (AI)-based virtual assistant-Arbo will be a differentiator.
Also, Panasonic recently launched the P9 Max and Ray 500 with 4000 mAH battery capacity.
Panasonic Eluga I4 Offers Good Battery Life and ARBO AI
Panasonic has launched many new smartphones in this year, and recently they have added a new phone to the portfolio – Eluga I4.
After the successful release of Eluga A3 and A3 Pro, the new budget mobile Eluga I4 comes at a price tag of Rs 8,290. The all new I4 follows the same ideology of its predecessors. The same design language with some tweaks and also has their in-house AI, Assistant Arbo.
The mobile comes with a metallic finish polycarbonate back cover.
Also, it has an 8 MP sensor with LED flash residing at the top left corner.
The chrome antenna lines are running across the top and bottom side of the phone.
The front looks gorgeous with its 2.5D curved glass and dedication home button which comes with a fingerprint sensor.
Panasonic Eluga I4 Launched in Indian Market Price 8299
The I4 sports a 5 inch HD (1280X720) IPS LCD display. It’s powered by tried and tested MediaTek MT6737 SOC paired with 2GB of RAM.
The processor is weak compared to the other Snapdragon counterparts used in rival phones like Yu Yureka black, Redmi 4. In the similar price range, you can find many phones with superior processing power.
ARBO AI and Other Features
Additionally, the phone comes with 16 GB of internal storage which can, fortunately, be expanded up to 128 GB. The mobile runs on the Android Nougat 7.1 Os along with the custom Panasonic UI and personal virtual Assistant ARBO.
It’s 2017, the inclusion of 4G/VoLTE is somewhat of a given, and Panasonic hasn’t skipped on that as well.
Powering the phone is a sizeable 3000 mAh battery although, it retains the old micro USB port for charging. At the same time, it’d be too much to ask for a USB type-C port in this price range.
On the brighter side; the phone does support OTG, so all you heavy users out there can easily mount a pen drive and transfer videos/movies on the go.
Also, It’s already available from the authorized offline stores and Panasonic brand stores. The phone is available in 3 colors: Blue, Black, and Gold for a price tag of Rs 8,920.
The entry-level segment has started to see fierce competition off lately.
The Eluga I4 is going to face competition directly from Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Yureka Black & Lenovo K6 Power. Panasonic has been struggling in expanding the market share and launching too many average models may not solve it.
The Eluga I4 is an average Joe from Panasonic, and will also have the same fate as most phones from the brand. There are a lot of good options in the 8k price range which can read here.
Companies will have to be more decisive when launching new phones, so they offer something extra in the price range, else they are all me too product.
