Realme 8i, Realme 8s, and Realme Pad (Tablet) India Launch – Specs, Price and Features

On 9th September 2021 Realme has unveiled the 2 most anticipated smartphones in India  – Realme 8i, and Realme 8s.

Realme has become popular with the Indian masses thanks to its affordable pricing and excellent specs. Especially, the Narzo series and the affordable Realme C series are doing excellent for the brand.

Additionally, the brand also launched the company’s first tablet – Realme Pad at the event.

Both phones have a cool design, amazing specs, and are mid-range offerings.

Let’s check out the details for the Realme 8i, 8s, and the Realme Pad.

Realme 8i

Realme 8i

Design

The smartphone has an arc beam texture that provides it a glossier, and smoother appearance. Overall an eye-catching design that you can’t miss to appreciate.

Display

Realme 8i offers a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth visual effect and comes with a 6.6 inch IPS LCD punch hole notch display.

Also, it offers an FHD+(2412*1080)pixels resolution and a 600nits peak brightness makes it compatible to use even in strong sunlight conditions.

Processor & Operating system

The Realme 8i is the world’s first phone powered by the latest MediaTek Helio G96 processor. It is an octa-core processor clocked at 2.05Ghz and manufactured on a 12nm chipset.

For a smooth gaming experience, the phone got an ARM Mali-G57 GPU.

Notably, the Realme 8i operates on a Realme UI 2.0 based on the Android 11 operating system.

Variants

This phone arrived in the following variants:

  • 4GB RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage.
  • 6GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

Furthermore, it has 5GB of virtual RAM support to offer a seamless experience and it also has expandable memory support of up to 256GB.

Camera

For shutterbugs, it has Triple rear cameras, including a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a depth sensor that delivers sharp, high-quality images.

At the front, the Realme 8i is equipped with an ultra-clear 16MP selfie shooter.

The Dual View Video is an excellent feature for people who love to make videos using selfie cameras for Vlogging or social media videos. 

Battery

The Realme 8i is fueled with a 5000mAH battery capacity that easily lasts for 1 day. Additionally, the phone has got 18 Watt fast charging support.

Other features

The phone has 8.5mm thickness and the large battery makes it a bit bulky, weighing 194 grams.

Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a 3.5mm earphone jack, USB Type-C 2.0 port, and dual SIM(3G/4G) VOLTE support.

For safety and unlocking, the Realme 8i has an ultra-fast side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Lastly, the phone comes in two eye-catching color options that include Space Black and Space Purple.

Price & Availability

The Realme 8i will be available for purchase from 14 September through  Flipkart, Realme.com, and offline retailers.

The base variant(4GB RAM / 64GB storage) of the phone comes along with a price tag of Rs 13,999.

Moreover, the high-end variant(6GB RAM / 128GB storage) is available for Rs 15,999.

The Realme 8s has an Infinite star design at the rear that comes along with a matte finish that makes it look premium. 

Also, the back panel has a fingerprint-resistant coating.

Display

Enjoy multimedia on Realme 8s with its large 6.5 inch IPS LCD display comes along with a left-align punch hole notch, FHD+(2400*1080)pixels resolution, and 90Hz refresh rate.

Furthermore, the phone has thin bezels around its corner therefore it offers an 83.9% screen-to-body ratio and 600nits peak brightness.

Processor

Realme 8s 5G becomes the world’s first phone powered by the high-end MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor. It is an octa-core processor, clocked at 2.4Ghz, and fabricated on a 6nm chipset.

For handling gaming, the Realme 8s has an ARM Mali-G57 GPU.

Like Realme 8i, it also runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.

Variants

The Realme 8s comes in 2 RAM variants:

  • 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 onboard storage.
  • 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.

Additionally, the phone has an extra 5GB virtual RAM support and also comes with expandable memory support of up to 1TB.

Camera

At the rear, it is equipped with a Triple camera setup including a 64MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and the last one is a 2MP portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture.

The Realme 8s 5G comes with the same 16MP In-display selfie shooter, the same as the Realme 8i.

Battery

The battery capacity is also the same – 5000mAH but it offers a 33 Watts Dart charging support.

Other features

The Realme 8s has a thickness of 8.8mm and it weighs 191 grams.

Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a 3.5mm earphone jack, USB Type-C 2.0 port, and dual SIM(5G+5G) VOLTE support.

Further, it has an ultra-fast side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

lastly, it is available in two beautiful color options that include universal purple, and universal blue.

Price & Availability

The Realme 8s will be available for purchase from 13 September through Flipkart, Realme.com, and retailers stores.

The base variant(6GB RAM / 128GB storage) comes along with a price tag of Rs 17,999.

Moreover, the high-end variant(8GB RAM / 128GB storage) is available for a price tag of Rs 19,999.

Realme Pad

The company launched the Realme Pad along with its two smartphones. It is the brand’s first-ever tablet launch.

The Android Tablet market has not seen too many launches apart from Samsung and Lenovo in India. It is great that Realme is bringing some good offerings to Indian buyers. 

This tablet comes with noteworthy features that will surely impress buyers.

Design & Display

The Realme Pad comes with an ultra-slim design having a thickness of 6.9mm, quite portable and easy to hold.

The tablet offers a large 10.4-inch WUXGA+ (2,000×1,200 pixels) display that offers an 82.5% screen-to-body ratio.

Processor & Operating system

Powering the tablet is a MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor fabricated on a 12nm chipset and clocked at 2.0 GHz.

Additionally, it got an ARM Mali-G52 GPU that is good for everyday gaming. It is not the fastest processor like the Apple A13 that you will find on an iPad but can run most applications with ease.

Camera

For photography and videos, the tab offers an 8MP front and rear camera along with an ultra-wide lens that has a 105 degrees field-of-view (FoV).

Audio

It comes with 4 dynamic speakers that are powered by Dolby Atmos technology. Moreover, it has a dual microphone that has noise cancellation support offering noise-free video calls, and online classes.

Battery

The Realme Pad comes with a bumper 7,100mAH battery capacity that has a support of 18 Watts fast charging and even has a reverse charging support via OTG cable.

Variants & Price

The tablet comes in the following variants:

  • 3GB RAM and 32GB storage configuration(Wi-Fi only variant) at Rs. 13,999.
  • 3GB RAM and 32GB storage configuration(Wi-Fi + 4G variant) at Rs. 15,999.
  • 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration(Wi-Fi + 4G variant) at Rs. 17,999.

The storage of the Realme Pad can be expandable up to 1TB.

This device will available from 16 September 2021 and you can purchase it through Flipkart, Realme.com, and retail stores.
