I think the 64 GB is more than enough for all needs for storing videos, images and even couple of movies.

Display and Build Quality

The biggest differentiator for the LE MAX is the large size display with 6.33 inch IPS LCD screen.  The display comes with Quad HD (2560*1440) resolution with 464 PPI. The smartphone is unapologetically large and not for people looking for a powerful compact smartphone.

I always find the Google Nexus 6 which came with 5.96-inch display a bit large to hold, Samsung Note 5 with the 5.7-inch screen or the OnePlus 2 with a 5.5-inch display is more comfortable to use and hold. Le Max is more like the Qiku Q terra which comes with a 6.0-inch screen and has a similar form factor like the LE MAX.

The display is excellent for the device with the 2K resolution, and you will appreciate the crystal clear text and vivid images/videos.

The smartphone comes with 8.95 mm thickness and is by no means a device you can use with a single hand.  The LE MAX weighs 204 grams which are quite heavy.

Le Max

The smartphone has a metal unibody design with an Aluminum finish. There are Antenna lines which run at the bottom and top of the device. The 21-megapixel rear camera is a bit protruding, and there is a Dual-tone powerful flash which comes with it.

The fingerprint scanner is located below the rear camera and offers very responsive performance compared to some of the cheaper sensors out there.

At the top of the device, there is a 3.5 mm jack at the top, and there is IR Blaster on the right side.

Performance and OS

The smartphone is powered by the top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. There is Adreno 510 processor which offers great gaming experience.

The smartphone comes with 4 GB Ram which is essential for every flagship smartphone of the current generation. Le Max is powered by the Android Lollipop 5.1 and comes with custom EUI 5.5.

The one hand mode feature is something which makes the smartphone more usable. There are three themes which are well designed and offer good user experience.

Camera Quality

The rear camera is a 21 Mega Pixel shooter which comes with Sony IMX230 lens; the camera also has Optical Image Stabilization which helps to reduce noise in the shots. The camera comes with f/2.0 aperture size and a Dual-tone flash.

The front camera on the smartphone is by OmniVision 4 megapixel wide angle (81.6 degree to be precise), which offers detailed photographs. The smartphone comes with Hi-Fi audio and decent sound quality from the speakers.

Battery Life

The smartphone comes with 3400 mAH battery capacity and considering the Snapdragon 810 and the large 6.33-inch 2K display it is passable for the smartphone.

The smartphone comes with Dual Sim (4G LTE + 4G LTE), you can use both the sims as 3G or 4G as per your choice.

There is a USB Type C port at the bottom of the device, which can be used for fast data transfer and charge.

Initial Thoughts: LeEco Le MAX

Overall we think though it is an excellent large display smartphone to be successful they should have dropped the price initially close to 25k. As there are a lot of choices in this range like the One Plus 2 and the Yu Yutopia or Qiku Q Terra which are priced much cheaper.

There are a lot of people who will find value in the Le Max, but the large display may also make it a limited offering for the majority of buyers.

  2. Hey kanuj you told in a article that le max could be the cheapest 2k sd 810 under rs 20000 but no ….and le 1s is priced rs 9910….. 😉

    • haha true we expected the LE MAX to be priced cheaper if LETV wanted it to sell like hot cakes in India , probably between 20 to 25K to sell more than Yutopia, but Letv has priced the Le 1s much cheaper and kept the Le max way high, I still think they will have to drop price if they want some real sales for LE MAX…
