Lenovo has Launched the New Lenovo K8 Smartphone, Priced at Rs 10,499
Lenovo is aggressive as a wounded Lion right now, in just two months, Lenovo has launched three smartphones in India.
Lenovo has been losing market share to Xiaomi, and are way behind to challenge Samsung. But the company is trying hard to gain market share with quick new phone launches.
The Lenovo K8 Note with dual cameras, MediaTek Helio X23 chip; the Lenovo K8 Plus with dual cameras MediaTek Helio P25 chip, and today they have launched, the least expensive Lenovo K8.
The Lenovo K8 is priced at Rs. 10,499 and will be available only in retail stores. On the other hand, the earlier product K8 Note is an Amazon exclusive, while the K8 Plus is available only on Flipkart.
Lenovo as a Brand is Fighting Hard to Win Customer Share
Lenovo transformed itself as a brand this year because nothing was going the company’s way. The Lenovo P2 was a decent device launched this year, but it failed, due to poor marketing and slower than a turtle software updates.
One thing which comes to mind, when we think of Lenovo, it is the transition of the brand to become more like Motorola.
Some fundamental changes that Lenovo has done are, they removed the Vibe UI and started using the stock Android OS in the Lenovo K8 series to fasten the update process.
They have gone with a more consumer-friendly approach, and that is what will help them grow in the Indian market.
The Lenovo K8 is the third smartphone in the K8 series, and it also comes with stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Also, the K8 will receive Android Oreo in 2018, but Lenovo has not revealed the exact date.
Lenovo K8 Key Specifications
Lenovo K8 comes with watered down specifications when compared to Lenovo K8 Note and K8 Plus. The K8 has a 5.2-inch HD screen which seems to be inadequate as Lenovo K8 has a price tag of Rs. 10,499.
Lenovo at least should have gone with a Full HD screen.
The phone is fuelled by the MediaTek Helio P20 chipset, a slightly less powerful version of the Helio P25 processor used in the Lenovo K8 Plus. This chipset draws power from a 4000 mAh battery which can keep the phone alive for a full day without the need for a second charge.
The Lenovo K8 is bundled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage.
The storage can also be expanded up to 128 GB with a micro-SD card.
The Lenovo K8 comes with a single 13 MP rear camera with PDAF support and LED flash. An 8 MP sensor adores the front for selfies and video calls. The phone has 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB.
Lenovo also included USB OTG support in the Lenovo K8.
Finally, the price for the Lenovo K8 is set at Rs. 10,499, and it can only be purchased in the offline market. Lenovo has previously launched the Lenovo K8 Note.
