Lenovo has launched the new long battery life smartphone, Lenovo P2 on Flipkart on today. The smartphone will go on sale on 11 Jan 2017 mid-night, exclusively on Flipkart.
The smartphone comes in 2 variants :
- Lenovo P2 with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB Storage – Price Rs. 16,999
- Lenovo P2 with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB Storage – Price Rs. 17,999
The key highlight of the smartphone is the 5100 mAH battery capacity which comes with fast charging support. Lenovo claims that the smartphone can offer fast charging performance better than the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 which is one of the best solutions for fast charging.
Smartphone can have 10 hours of battery back up with just 15 minutes of charging. The smartphone can offer 18 hours of video playback continuously on a single charge and can work for 2 days with ease.
The smartphone can also act as a power bank for other devices to charge them, with use of reversible cable and charging technology.
The smartphone is powered by the energy efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clocked at 2.0 GHz. The Snapdragon 625 is manufactured with 14 Nm process and the Octa-Core processor is quite power efficient. There is Adreno 506 GPU which is also excellent for gaming. We tested it in the Asus Zenfone 3.
The smartphone comes with either 3 GB of Ram or 4 GB. The internal storage options are 32 GB irrespective of the variant.
The design for the Lenovo P2 is rather bland and resembles the Lenovo K6 Power (comes with 4000 mAH battery capacity) design. The Lenovo P2 comes with metallic build with poly-plastic covers at the top and bottom to improve signal strength. The smartphone has 5.5 inch Full HD Super Amoled Display which offers great color reproduction and contrast ratio.
The Lenovo P2 comes with a 13 Mega pixel rear camera with auto-focus and Single LED flash support. There is a 5 Mega pixel front selfie camera to click selfies.
The Lenovo P2 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 along with Lenovo Vibe UI which offers good near stock experience. It is one of the UI’s which I believe is not heavily customized compared to others.
In spite of having a very large 5100 mAH battery capacity the Lenovo P2 comes with just 8.3 mm of thickness and it weighs 177 grams. Asus has also recently unveiled the Zenfone 3 Zoom which comes with 4850 mAH battery capacity and still have a 7.99 mm thickness. The P2 has Dual Sim support and offers 4G LTE as well as VOLTE connectivity. There is support for 3G / 2G /WIFI and Bluetooth 4.1.
The smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. The smartphone comes in Champagne gold and Graphite gray colors.
