The much awaited Lenovo Phab 2 smartphone which is first smartphone to feature the Google Project Tango is going to launch on November 1st. Lenovo has shared that the smarpthone will be available from November 1st though it is likely that it will be available in US only.
Back on June 10 the smartphone was unveiled along with the foldable concept smartphone from Lenovo.
Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang of Lenovo took the Center stage in San Francisco at the Lenovo Tech World to give a sneak peek into the future of fold able smartphones and tablets and also to introduce the new phablets along side the Google’s Project Tango.

Project Tango – The Project Tango basically enables your smartphone to be more spatially aware, which means you can use the smartphone for tasks like measurements and finding the depth of some thing or even height of something. It can measure 3D objects like your living rooms sofa or dining table. The smartphone comes with a depth sensor which work along with other sensors to create a new experience.
It will also be interesting to see the concept getting used in new generation of games. We had VR and now this is a new dimension to experiencing things.
Lenovo Phab 2 PRO is a large display smartphone and come with some beefy specs along with the support for Google Project Tango. The Phab 2 Pro will come in grey and gold colors and have metal uni-body design.
The Phab 2 Pro comes with a massive 6.4 inches Quad HD display, with 454 PPI. The smartphone comes with 4 camera, there is a 8 Mega pixel front camera. There is a 16 MP rear camera at the rear below which there is a depth camera and below that there is a motion sensing camera. These are lot of camera’s for 1 smartphone.
The phablet comes with support for Dolby Atmos sound but also can record 5.1 audio which helps you record true to life surround sound audio.
The Phab 2 Pro comes with 4050 mAH capacity battery for all day connectivity. There is a fingerprint scanner also located at the back of the device below the 3 intimidating camera’s.
The Phab 2 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and comes with 4 GB of Ram and runs on the Android marshmallow OS. The Phab 2 and the Phab 2 Plus on the other hand features the Mediatek processors.
The smartphone is priced at $499 in US and will cost around Rs.32,000 in the Indian market in case Lenovo plans to launch it in India.
