Update 1/March/2016 – Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus Latest Sub 10K Mobiles Unveiled at the ongoing MWC in 2016. Lenovo India today tweeted that they can launch the new K5 Plus on 15-03-2016 in India.
Lenovo has been doing great in the smartphone market with some of the recent launches including the Lenovo K4 Note and the Lenovo Vibe X3.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus follow the same design language and are made of poly-carbonate material with metallic edges. The smartphones are also similar in screen size and specs barring the processor and display resolution.
Lenovo Vibe K5 has an HD Display (1280* 720) with 5.0 inch screen. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 processor (Quad-Core).
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with Full HD Display (1920*1080) with 5.0 inch screen and is powered by a more power full processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (Octa-Core processor).
The differentiation ends here between both the devices and rest of the features are similar. The Lenovo Vibe K5 is priced at $129 or Rs. 8800 while the Lenovo K5 Plus is priced at $149 (Rs. 10,200).
The smartphones come with 16 GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 32 GB using a micro –sd card. The devices are Dual Sim and offers 4G LTE connectivity along with the native 3G and 2G support.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus has the micro-usb 2.1 port and has a 2750 mAH battery capacity which is decent for the smartphone considering 5 inch screen size.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus comes with the Android Lollipop 5.1 OS and moded with the Lenovo Vibe UI.
Both the devices have 2 GB of ram which is essential for running the Android OS smoothly.
The Lenovo Vibe K5 and K5 Plus comes with a 13 Mega pixel camera with autofocus and Led flash support and there is a 5 MP front Selfie camera. The smartphones will be available in Gold , Grey and Silver colors.
The smartphones actually have decent specs for the price but don’t offer some of the features like the fingerprint scanner and front Dolby speakers, which are there on the Lenovo K4 Note.
Considering Sub 10K price these can actually replace the Lenovo A7000 and the K3 Note in this segment.
