Lenovo is leaving no stone unturned to gain the market share in the budget and mid-range Android smartphone market. They have just launched in India the new Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo. It has also got listed on their official website.
Lenovo has launched the Lenovo Vibe P1 turbo in the Indian market today priced at Rs. 17,999 (or $ 270) and is so far available in Metros at some of the major retailers. It was unveiled on 11 February 2016.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is the successor to the Lenovo Vibe P1 which was launched in late 2015 in India. The Lenovo Vibe P1 is currently priced at Rs. 15,999, and it sits above the recently launched Lenovo K4 Note in the Lenovo’s portfolio.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo offers great battery life and comes with a massive 4900 mAH battery capacity and also has an improved 16 Mega-pixel rear camera. The Lenovo Vibe P1 has a 13 Mega Pixel rear camera with Led flash. The front camera is a 5 MP shooter on the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo too.
Before we deep dive into other major specs and features of Lenovo Vibe, P1 Turbo let’s see how Lenovo is pushing for more growth in the Indian market with its flawless strategy. Lenovo does not have a flagship smartphone which comes with 4 GB RAM and a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, they have not ventured into the flagship battle and didn’t want to be in the game for that.
Lenovo has a very strong sub 10K portfolio of products which include the Lenovo A6000 Plus, A7000 and the K3 Note, top-selling mobiles in the category. They recently launched the Lenovo K4 Note in the 12K to 15K range and is a good selling mobile already.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 priced at 16K and the recently launched Vibe X3 (comes with 21 MP camera ) priced at Rs. 19,999.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo if launched in the Indian market will offer better experience and specs compared to the Lenovo Vibe P1 and will be placed between the Vibe X3 and Vibe P1, for a price close to 17 to 18K. There is no news when the new smartphone will get launched in the Indian market; it is however released in the Indonesian market.
Coming back to the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo it comes with a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution (1920*1080) with 401 PPI. The screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and offers excellent resistance to scratches and wear.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 clocked at 1.5 GHz. There is Adreno 405 GPU which offers excellent gaming performance much better than the Mali GPU used in the Lenovo K4 Note.
The smartphone has 3 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 128 GB using a micro-sd card. (There is also a mention of 2 GB RAM by Lenovo, which we think is a misprint on their official site).
The design for the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is very similar to the Lenovo Vibe P1 with a full metal body which makes the device look more premium.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo comes with a massive 4900 mAH battery which is enabled with fast charging, we tested the Lenovo P1 Vibe, and it took exactly 1:35 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%. It is a big plus for people looking for a smartphone which works all day without the need of a charger.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo comes with Dual Sim 4G LTE connectivity along with the native support for 3G and 2G. The device is a bit heavier weighing 187 grams and has a thickness of 9.99 mm. The sleekness is something you have to compromise when buying a long battery life mobile.
The smartphone runs on the Android Lollipop 5.1 and has the custom Lenovo Vibe UI. The smartphone comes with support for USB OTG and has the Dolby sound technology along with a perfect speaker system if you wish to listen to songs aloud.
Overall the smartphone offers a bit extra compared to the Lenovo Vibe P1, especially in the rear camera department. The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo is also a good option for those looking for an extended battery smartphone in 15 to 18K price range.
