Lenovo has launched the new Lenovo Vibe Shot smartphone to get market share in the higher range segment for smartphones below Rs. 30,000. The segment is currently occupied by the top selling OnePlus 2 and the Motorola Moto X Play.
Update – 23/September/2015 – Lenovo Vibe Shot has finally got launched on 22 September 2015 in the Indian market and is currently available to purchase from the Lenovo owned thedostore.com. The smartphone is priced at a premium and costs Rs. 25,499.
We feel the price is a bit higher compared to the competition, the smartphone competes with Moto X Play 32 GB version and have almost similar specs but costs a 4.5K more.
There are also other good options in this range , but Lenovo is boasting that the new smartphone can deliver better camera quality compared to rivals. We will put that claim to test once the smartphone is released.
The rear camera on the Shot is going to be 16 MP with autofocus, OIS , triple tone Led flash and no shutter lag. The camera has a 6P lens which comes with Optical image stabilization something we find in expensive smartphone like the iPhone 6 Plus or the Samsung Galaxy S6. The camera has true 16:9 BSI sensor, tricolor flash which makes your image less prone to color wash and deterioration.
The smartphone has a dedicated button to click images which will make it ideal device for “click-o-maniacs”. The selfie lovers are also going to love the 8 MP front wide angle camera which can capture every shot with greater clarity. The camera comes with an infrared auto-focus feature and tricolor flash to automatically adjust luminosity based on ambient light conditions
The smartphone is powered by the latest Android Lollipop 5.0 and will be modded with the Lenovo Vibe UI.
Processor – The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 615 processor and is clocked at 1.7 Ghz. The Octacore processor offers big little architecture(the other cores are clocked at 1.0 Ghz for less resource intensive processes), which makes it quite energy efficient.
The smartphone has Adreno 405 GPU which is better compared to the Adreno 306 on the Mi4i.
The Vibe Shot is going to have 3 GB RAM which is sufficient for multitasking and playing all latest Android Games. The smartphone has a 5.0 inch screen with Full HD resolution 1920*1080. The pixel resolution is 441 for the display screen and is pretty good for reading and playing games on the device.
The internal storage is also great with 32 GB capacity which can be expanded using a Micro SD card upto 128 GB.
The smartphone has 2900 mAH battery capacity which again very good considering the screen size and processor. It can easily run all day without needing a mid-day charge.
The smartphone weighs 145 grams which is not too much considering the large battery size. The thickness for the Lenovo Shot is 7.6 mm.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot is Dual Sim mobile and has 4G LTE connectivity along with the native 3G/2G and WIFI connectivity options.
The smartphone will be available in 3 colors – Crimson, Pearl White and Graphite Grey.
The Lenovo Vibe Shot looks a strong contender for a phone with distinguishing camera qualities. More on the smartphone when it is launched in the Indian market.
