Lephone Debuts in Indian Market with Lephone W7, a New Entry-Level Phone Costs Just Rs. 4599

Another month, another Chinese brand entering the Indian market. This time, an unexpected name came out, which we did not list in our article of upcoming Chinese brands to enter the Indian market. While there are 4-5 more brands expected to launch operations in India, Lephone is another new entrant.

Lephone, one of the major brands in China since 2005 has launched its entry-level smartphone, the Lephone W7 at Rs. 4599. Lephone is a major mobile communication company in China and was founded by Mr. Huang Mingquan.

Lephone also makes IPTV and powerbanks apart from smartphones, as per the official website they are in top 10 smartphone manufacturers in China.

Lephone W7 – A Budget 4G Smartphone

The phone comes with decent specifications for the asking price including the much-looked feature in modern day smartphones- 4G VoLTE.

The Lephone W7 also comes with support for almost all the regional languages of India as you can use the phone in every language possible by changing the phone’s default language, which is an added advantage with the phone for old people.

The 22 languages include Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The Lephone W7 comes with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The screen is also curved with a 2.5D glass on top that made the phone look beautiful and stand out from others in the similar price range.

The phone comes powered with a Quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz, which is unspecified along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. The storage can also be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The W7 is packed with a 5 MP primary camera with support for LED flash and comes with a 2 MP front-facing snapper.

The Lephone W7 runs a customized version of Android called as 360 OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The OS also has the dual apps feature allowing users to run two apps simultaneously.

As mentioned at the start of this article, the Lephone W7’s forte is the support for 4G VoLTE. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooh, GPS, and micro USB port.
